Mythology are not exactly real history. According to Chinese mythology, Jade Emperor ruled all land between Heaven and Earth.

China had interest but was willingly compromise, so to resolve the border dispute. But Nerul refused, insisted on Machon line, and launched his forward policy.

The current boundary is almost the same with McMahon line and most Chinese even don't know vast territory with 60,000~90,000 sq kilometres under control by Indian and only focus on little islands eastern just like Senkaku and those in Soth China Sea which are easy to fight for.

you gotta look at the broader picture. It is strategic point for naval projection and keeping those pesky Japanese at bay. Also the natural resources around the island can be worth billions. China has AC, very strategic area. AP is nothing compare to AC even if it is more fertile.

Tibet historically belonged to China for hundreds of years, AP was never part of any indian kingdoms, hence the need for Simla Accord between the Chinese and the British. There was no India yet.

Well, Tibet did not belong to China when it signed the accord, did it? So, if at all anyone should fight over Arunachal Pradesh, it should be tibet and Britain, not China and India.
