Even with fixing PTI won 15 seats out of the 20 seats in the Punjab by elections after the lotas were disqualified.

Only to some extent with lower turnout it can be fixed, with people charged and higher turnout it cannot be fixed to win.

Now the turnout would be higher.

Ab tu situation 18/20 ki hogayi hai due to hyper inflation. Thats why pdm are so scared from even local body elections let alone prov+general elections.

How comes PTI government wants provisional elections when they were already in power in Punjab and KPK assemblies. First they dissolve the assemblies, loose power and now want new elections so they can win again.

This time assembly will be elected for 5 years and if pti wins than state machinery will be with pti in Punjab and KP so under such circumstances, pti will have real chance to win NA elections with 2-3rd majority.

Some legal experts on TV are saying even for provincial assemblies ...anyways this will go to SC and in my opinion SC will force ECP to give the date in April itself. Eithers way, there is no escape for PDM now unless Hafiz sb decides to come on TV "mere pyarey humwatonon"

Hafiz Shahab will not be able to control the country if he does so. We'll see major insurgencies take hold in KPK. What we see today and even during Musharraf/Kiyani and Raheel will pale in comparison to what will occur if Hafiz plans on anything dumb like that. KPK is a tenderbox that can blow up real bad. And if that movement aligns with Balouch insurgencies (where that link is slowly beginning to be established) KPK and Baluchistan will become ungovernable. Combine that with the apathy that exists for the Pakistan Army in now main Punjab belt, alongwith the the South belt that is rife for another type of explosion (Madarass), Hafiz will rue the day he announces something like that.

If only the establishment could spend as much time analyzing where we are heading than playing golf maybe something good could be expected.

President Dr Arif Alvi on Monday announced April 9 as the date for holding general elections for the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

The elections are to take place in both the provinces after previous PTI governments had dissolved their assemblies before the expiry of their five-year mandated term on the orders of party chairman Imran Khan.

According to a press release issued by the President’s Secretariat’s Press Wing, the announcement of the election date was made under Section 57 (1) of Elections Act, 2017.

Interesting development. Though I don't know how 'legal' this move of President is but I believe SC will back this after ECP fails to obtain a date.

Now we want to see when will SC gonna take action on it. Tomorrow ECP for sure, will issue a statement that they reject President's notification. So it will lead to a severe constitutional crisis. Supreme Court in my opinion should had taken sutomuto action against governors and ECP immediately when two SC judges suggested to do so.
