Premier quits after landslide KMT defeat

Look around the world, all democratic societies have one thing in common: everyone blames someone else for their own failures. If the entire country is not doing well, what do they do? Blame the party in power. Then elect a different party. Of course the new party in power has and will continue to make promises. Only a few years later the same fate will happen to them, to their country. It's like opium, you have keep taking it to keep yourself high.

That's why Xi Jinping has said that China doesn't need the election to prove that it is democratic.

We have our own way about the democracy, and we don't care what is the western opinion about us.

And the West shouldn't keep insisting that their own "democracy" is the universal standard.

Ma Yingjiu came to power at the worst possible time in early 2008 when the world was going through the worst financial and economic hailstorms in decades。

We shall wait for the 4th Taiwan Strait Crisis should they want to escalate to that situation. Both Japan and US can't protect Taiwan that is something their military should realize by now.

Well, Taiwan under his governance has enjoyed more than 100 billion USD of the trade surplus against us annually.

Because CPC has deliberately gifted them in order to help their economy.

Now considering Ma's behavior on HK's protest, no more free meal for both KMT and DPP.

Forget about Japan, only the US and China are the main players.

But the US won't shed a single drop of blood for Taiwan, and those war chickens can keep fooling their base population about how weak China is, but the decision groups still won't gamble their own life plus that of the 300 million Americans at stake.

Taiwan under the DPP will do even worse, at least economically.

22k is passe. 15k is around the corner.

22k is passe. 15k is around the corner.

But DPP will help CPC to accomplish the unification under the full political integration.

That's why many Mainland netizens were actually supporting DPP to knock down KMT in this election. :enjoy:

Be it DPP or KMT, Taiwan's economy still depends mainly on China, their policy will not change too much.

I don't think KMT is pro China, Ma Yingjiu acted not like what he said, don't believe their political tricks. So I don't care who is in charge.

You mean to say Chinese percapita which is close to 7000 $ will supass Taiwan's per capita of 22000 dollars and people of Taiwan will work in China??

A highly unrealistic view !!

You are just another ignorant and prejudiced Indian in the large illiterate or non-intellectual populaion in India8-)

More young Taiwan people willing to work on mainland - China - Chinadaily.com.cn
(Xinhua) Updated: 2014-07-02 19:53

TAIPEI - More young Taiwan's job seekers are willing to work on the mainland, according to a survey released on Wednesday.

The survey, conducted in the first quarter of 2014 by the Taiwan human resources firm 104 Media among 2,196 Taiwan people who graduated in the past three years, showed that more than 80 percent of the respondents are willing to work on the mainland, a higher rate than that in 2012.

Respondents with mainland work experience have a stronger willingness to head for the mainland, and Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, Fujian Province and Chongqing Municipality are the most-favored locations for young Taiwan job seekers, the survey found.

Good salary and benefits, the vast mainland market and rich personal experience were the top three reasons cited, and the income of young Taiwan people working on the mainland is 1.25 times higher than that of young people on the island. In 2012, the figure was 1.03, according to the survey.

The survey also showed that with more communication across the strait, more than 50 percent of those surveyed would date and marry a mainlander.

Chang Ya-hui, manager of 104 Media public affairs office, said that 245,000 people, or 4.5 percent of the company's job hunters, indicated their hope to work on the mainland as well as Hong Kong and Macao, up 22.4 percent from five years ago.

. . . .
My prediction of DPP consolidation was correct. 2016 will be an exciting time for election season, definitely.

OKay, KMT lost TaiWan again ... 2016 president will come from DPP.

Future TaiWan will become more interesting ! :D

Yes it has ! I've some friends in Taiwan right now and what he's telling me is quite interesting. There is a growing pro-independence movement there in Taiwan.

Speaking of independence movements and Taiwan, are you familiar with the band Chthonic? Many of their songs such as The Progeny of Rmdax Tasing are about Taiwanese history, independence and contributions during war time.

One of my favorite bands and I for one have no shame in saying that I support Taiwanese independence... so long as peace can be maintained with China as well.
