They should just allocate funds for 1000 Locomotives in advance

By the way many other companies also make locomotives
with a bit modern design

Canadian firm which provides Train / Metro projects acorss world

If Railway had policy of multiple vendors we would be able to ramp up the railways much faster pace

If Pakistan Railways dealt regularly with 4-5 Vendors, the order for repairs or new order can be done much faster as seperate vendors can deliever product at sufficient local capacity

With 1 vendor we might get something in 100 Units / year
With 5-6 vendors we might get deliveries of 500-1000 Unit / year

Also having multiple vendors you can also analyse customer service and response to your order or delivery a bit better.

If have need for 1000-4000 Locomotives in next 10 years , don't see why this number can not be broken down with companies

Why buying expensive locos from USA when cheaper ones available from China ?
Also colour scheme is really horrible.

It’s a pity that we are IMPORTING these locos while we have a world class facility at Risalpur which can be upgraded to produce the engines that we require. But hey, where is the commission in that?

Excellent news for PR, not so much for the country if you look at the broader picture.

Sir it depends whether GE will allow for TOT.

Another reason could be that since PR is in loss therefore they might not afford the overall cost of TOT as well.

Why buying expensive locos from USA when cheaper ones available from China ?
Also colour scheme is really horrible.

Our previous order was for Chinese Engines but they were of less HP. I can throw the same question to you as well, why did you order for 1000 GE engines. Why didn't you went for Chinese or any other maker?

GE is Corolla in Engines all over the world ,with proven outputs and reliability lasting couple of decades a good decision
