Unannounced electricity load-shedding has continued across the country as the shortfall has reached 6000 megawatts amid extremely hot weather.

According to details, different areas across the country are witnessing the power outages for eight to ten hours while eight to ten hours load-shedding has been recorded in rural areas.

The locals have demanded the concerned authorities to resolve the issue as their routine is being affected by this electricity crisis.

On the other hand, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that hot and dry weather is likely to prevail over most parts, while very hot in plain areas of the country.

However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Pothohar Region in afternoon.

Should they overhaul the transmission system in 2 years or build more power stations in 2 years?

Dams are being built, they will take time

Who do you think should have done something about our transmission system and power system in the decades they were in power?

Problem which we face in Pakistan, is not power generation anymore, rather power management. Even during the time we had negative power generation, power management was shamefully mismanaged due to the corrupt p!g-governments like ppp and pml-n for the last 3 decades.

Power Management needs to be addressed comprehensively. The people who run these power projects don't know a damn thing about how electricity is stolen, how electrical bills of big political party associates are unpaid.

This culture of stealing electricity, elites siphoning off electricity by not paying their bills or subsidizing them.

There is also the severe issue of maintenance of power lines on the national grid. Depleted spares stock, knock-off of OEM parts, feudal culture, mafia system and the list goes on.

Pakistanis have to establish ethos of being Muslim first, where honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and reliability are embedded with qualified technicians, stock controllers, managers and Dept Heads.
