Possible War with India

same was looking forward to roasted lahore
U guys planning on having tea in Lahore again? :coffee:

On a separate note while we r on the subject of India attacking Pakistan...I recently came across these WWII era towers of Germany that halted the Soviet advances(during the end of the war while Soviets were closing in on Berlin from the east). After many attempts of bombing it from the air and using artillery to bring them down...it proved unsuccessful and the soviets simply had no choice but to go around these towers/fortresses.

After the war when they decided to blow up these towers to erase the reminders of Nazi Germany...the towers did not go down easy. Before reading further...please watch the video

The border between Pak/India is long and varies in terms of terrain. Such structures would be hard if not impossible or impractical to build in the northern areas(mountainous region) or the deserts of Sindh. However they can prove to be of value in the region like Punjab(plains). India's cold start strategy is centered on quick shallow armored thrusts through Punjab and Sindh...quick armored thrusts wouldn't work as well in the northern mountainous region. So having these fortifications would slow down(if not stop) Cold Start in Punjab giving Pak much needed time for a counter offensive.

Of course much has changed since WWII. The fighter jets can fire away at such hypothetical fortified positions from stand off range...but just like how the fighter jets and the arsenal of weapons they carry has evolved...the air defense systems have evolved as well.

Either these towers can be built in succession to leave no gaps(in the area coverage between them)...leaving no options to go around or they can be placed strategically...with gaps intentionally left to force the enemy in those gaps(in their attempt to going around the towers). The first approach of leaving no gaps will obviously require more towers and can be very expensive not to mention terrain challenges again...hence the second option is better due to its lower cost while still countering Cold Start strategy in Punjab.

Shooting drones is easy. Shooting planes is hard

Are you out of your mind? Shooting down drones especially surveillance ones is extremely tough because of the RCS. Try finding needle in a haystack.

The number of radars with Pakistan is limited and is imported. So, there lies the problem of Pakistan. Indian radars are all indigenous. Hence initial strike of missiles to take the radars out will be successful against Pakistan but not India

Again? Are you out of your mind? For the size of Pakistan, Pakistan's radar coverage is quite extensive. Pakistan has coverage for low, medium and high altitude, and you have multiple levels of coverage with both Active and Passive Radars. Sure, Indian radars are indigenous but is India going to produce them immediately in the case of a war. You do realize it takes months to produce a single radar and test it properly. We are not in WW2 where you produce boat loads of T34's.

SAM is very important as aerial defence of airforce is not enough. It will come down to who has a better plane and pilot. In case of SAM, the missile has 40g maneuver and much faster speed than a plane and hence avoiding is very difficult

Exactly. This is why PAF is there to defend the skies, SAM supplements the defence but is not the only weapon in the kitty.

This is the main problem of Pakistan - imports. How will Pakistan repair the tank if it needs spare from China? China has different tanks for itself and hence does not keep spares ready to supply Pakistan. Pakistan has to place orders and after that China will manufacture and give. All this takes time and not quickly done in war.

Pakistan has war reserves for 90 days, that's more then enough. Both countries will fight with the weapons they have on hand, there will be no time for ordering and shipping. Again, you do realize it takes a long time to take a disabled weapon and fix it. India will have to retrieve its destroyed tanks, rail it back to its manufacturing facilities, fix it, test it and then ship it back. Do you know how much time that will take?

Cruise missiles are far worse and can be shot down using BVRAAM missiles like Astra from a fighter jet.

If only it was that easy.

They will for a change not be the ones in control however.

They will be passengers in the next one coming.

It will be fought on India's terms. At a time and place of our choosing.

Cheers, Doc

Can you take a chill pill.

There is no war happening between India and Pakistan. Cooling heads will prevail as usual. There might be skirmishes but that's about it.

And always remember desi. It was a Persian general who did you.

Cheers, Doc

Persia is long gone. That general was of Indian dissent culturally and genetically like you. Too bad that supposed "alpha male Persian general" had to take orders from a hindu lady of "low birth" while commanding an army and a terror outfit comprising both of hindu and Muslim militants.

P:S : Parsis are not even considered a foot note in history. Besides Iam sure that even the Iranis won't accept a bastardised breed to be their own.

Much of Pakistan know about wars from safe distance, mostly. Arrange tours to Syria on a daily basis, and many will transform into advocates of peace. Heck...just conduct interviews of people in Swat.

Another factor is romanticism of 1965 War on the media which was one of its kind. Existing generations do not realize that both countries have long-range artillery, 4th generation combat aircraft, guided munition and ballistic missiles now. And too much infrastructure at stake.
War is always a romantic tale for those, who have never been into it.

There is panic among Pakistanis that what if India strikes. Their media, activists and their establishment made statements that they are ready. I am loving the Pakistani notanki (drama) :toast_sign:

There is no panic, actually majority want India to attack and really show they have balls and then people will love to fight that war against India along with Pakistani military.

Could you provide a source as where Pakistanis claim to be Indian abroad? Never met a single Pakistani who claimed to be Indian.
