Pakistan and India are fighting from decades over Kashmir. Every one knows that this issue effects badly to the economies of both Pakistan and India. Both countries are spending billions and billions dollars to strengthen their defence line. Due to this unnecessary expenditure; the citizens of both countries are struggling for food and the percentage of suicide and murders is increasing drastically in both countries..
The formula of dividing Kashmir may not be acceptable for Kashmiris and will start a life time protests in Kashmir region. Not Pakistan neither India can get this piece of land by war which may lead to an automatic war and leave no one to rule in the whole region.
The only peaceful solution to this issue is a free and fare plebiscite under United Nations security forces which should be acceptable for Pakistan , India and Kashmiris.

Have you opened your eyes after that long time to find out what are we looking for? Only solution is now grow a pair of balls prepare over next 2-3 years and take what's yours by the barrel of the gun. Current circumstances in ME must open your eyes and learn no one will fight the war for you and every one have their own agendas, letting down and use and abuse the name of the game of the new town. India will neve stop buying arms and that's the fact and every one is selling arms to them without any hesitation and we are talking about economy and peace. While others are trying to convert us into their prostitute and some are selling us Israel and OIC, peace doesn't comes by begging only slavery does. If that's the case is then blow up Miner-e-Pakistan and dump the 2 state theory and watch the bitches on the TV what most of the Pakistani's are got used to it by free speech.

I know the frustrations we all feel, watching our brothers and sisters suffering in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and our hands tied by the world community, but I don't think plebiscite will be an easy solution to achieve, although in this modern world it is the only sensible solution.

Eritrea, East Timor, South Sudan, Yugoslav republics, Czechoslovakia, Scotland,

and so many regions have had their choice to choose their futures, it is inhuman not to give the same rights to the people of Kashmir, but ultimately a solution can only be found that is acceptable to Pakistan, India, and foremost the people of all regions Jammu & Kashmir.

And, the most likely road to that solution is negotiations and compromise from all parties, it may not be ideal but it is the most realistic solution.

Inidia has divided the erstwhile state of J&K into two UTs of J&K and Ladakh. Many Indians wanted three UTs of J and K and Ladakh. But its ok for now. Tomorrow we may make it 3 or make it one state again. We will decide our internal matters. Others should manage their own.

India would never allow this ... to them they see J&K as an integral part of their territory, just like how China sees Tibet or how the US sees Hawaii. This proposal would be akin to India ceding territory.

The only way I see J&K being freed is via a Sino-Pak vs India war. I really can't see any internal rebellion succeeding or India voluntarily withdrawing. They would rather raze Kashmir to the ground then give it up.

Time for plebiscite is long ago and not possible under current conditions as their is now an influx of Hindus and mass killings of Kashmiris to lower their population. Only solution is left is an all out Total War to settle this, anything else recommended is beating around the push.

Dividing Jammu and Kashmir into two will create a lot of trouble if we want to make it a state. It is better to keep Kargil and Ladakh out of J&K control.

Kargil is in Ladakh which is already out of J&K.

I was opining that the J&K UT should also have been divided into 2 UTs, i.e. Jammu and Kashmir.

Total 3 UTs, Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh. The terrorism is within few pockets of the K-valley and entire J&K was suffering. Now Ladakh is happy. Jammu should be made similarly happy. Though highly unlikely, when Jammu & Ladakh progress, sense will dawn on K-valley also.
