Possible Saudi strikes on Iraqi militias

Okay, from what you're saying then it depends on who is conducting the attacks. Some reports suggest the Israeli's. If that is the case, why are Israeli's targeting them? I've read that they are helping Iran smuggle weapons into Syria then to Hezbollah Lebanon. I don't see how this would give the PMU an valid reason to refuse to be under command. Iraqi armed forces can't prevent these attacks and neither can PMU. So I don't know how they will deal that.

But,if what you're saying is true and Iraq will be neutral than that is good for the region.

Iraq can only stay neutral for so long. The targets are usually bases or small check stops which are creating a link between Syria and Iraq. Israel doesn’t want any easy transportation of strategic weapons near its borders. But these airstrikes won’t actually do much, the weapons are probably already there.

Saudi and Israel are allies in the region, I wouldn’t doubts if they work together on these operations. Iraq right now has no deterrence. No intelligence which works outside the border, no cyber security, no air defence, limited Air Force, no ballistic missiles, no UAV systems. It’s an easy prey which can be attacked withouth having to worry about retaliations. However, the strength is in infantry.

The only way is to send another UAV to track down where the attacking UAV’s land to see where they came from. Once they know who is attacking, then they can deter them through threats or possible counter attacks.

No flaw detected yet, but your logic below has flaws...

Thats because US was using ISIS to dislodge real Iranian influence on the ground. ISIS was US's ground forces then. We know how that went....

You're losing your mind man, not interested in conspiracy theories.

Sorry bro but you lost me here. You don't need to hold posters of Khameni and threaten your own government with violence if they don't obey Iran to fight ISIS. I see no reason for these PMU to exist. They could have all joined the Iraqi army. Instead they chose to form militias loyal to Iran that seek to force Iraq to advance the interests of Iran.

You guys had near 20 years of rule to prove yourselves as responsible people and this is what you did with Iraq. Not trying to offend you but this is the truth. Your people are treating this like a game and putting their country down dark road.

Saudis are not allies with Israel. And you guys are never going to fight Israel. PMU purpose is to threaten Iraqi government/journalists/celebrities/politicians with violence if they don't serve Iran's agenda. I don't if you guys are brainwashed or what the problem is. You are gambling with future of your country for sake of Iranian regime. You had a chance to prove yourselves and become prosperous country. And now you guys want to fight Saudi Arabia for no reason at all, only because Iran ordered you to. And sad thing is you will fail miserably in the process.

So if you guys want to go down that path and be failed country, it is your choice but you will regret it. It's self destructive and waste of time.

60% of suiciders in Iraq were saudis

.
.
Total of 124 bombers counted in the study. That's a very small minority of people compared to regions population. Some tiny minority is attracted to terrorist organizations with global agenda that seek recruits from all backgrounds.
Do you knew how mani Iraqi died by that so called tiny minority

.
Nothing new. Saudi Arabia/ UAE/ Qatar are/were the main sponsors of terrorists organizations in Iraq and Syria and the Middle East.

The only reason they switched sides and opened up to iraq was because they’re plans failed horribly. They had to choose between opening up or staying enemies.

Either way realistically Iran is a better ally than the Arab gulf countries. Iran will stand with Iraq in any circumstances, arab countries only offer bribes though “investments” but wouldn’t hesitate to take any opportunity change the government in iraq. Although their dreams are far stretched now. Which is they try hard to disband the PMF.

Criticizing Iran’s negative role in iraq doesn’t mean I’d choose Saudi Arabia over Iran. After all it was Iran who stood by our side in the worst of times. While Saudi Arabia was cheering for ISIS.

Saudi Arabia was cheering ISIS? They joined the coalition against ISIS.

Iraq will have relations either way with Iran as they are neighbors. But, you realize if Iraqi's are sick of both Iran and Gulf Arabs there are many other countries they can choose from. If I was Iraqi I would want both sides to leave me out of their tug of war. And look to develop relations with other nations. I would just focus on development and economy. I can't see how getting involved in Saudi-Iranian feud is gonna help.

PMF needs to stay, but without Iranian controlled factions. It’s not as easy as it sounds. The outcome of the elections was horrible as the majority of Iraqis refused to vote. It ended up with the same fath(Iran backed) and Sadr bloc getting into power because their supporters did vote. The current Iraqi government doesn’t represents the majority. It only represents those who voted which were under 20% of Population. The elections were also rigged with tens of thousands of votes purchased. It’s basically a government of traitors for the most part. The US installed a flawed system which is destined to keep iraq as a failed state unless it is changed.

No one wants to fight Saudi arabia or any other country, not sure why you have that impression. Even Iran doesn’t want conflict why would you think iraq wants to engage in a useless battle with Saudi Arabia. We have nothing to gain in any battle against Saudi Arabia or any other country.

When I say PMU I mean in the sense if a united force under compete government control not taking orders from any other power. The truth this there is no way to disband them. They fought and gave sacrifices in the battle against IS. majority of them are not Iran backed. The US and Sunni politicians don’t want them in the army which means a separate entity is the only option.

Saudi Arabia joined the coalition only later. When the Kurds were attacked that’s when the international coalition started, they didn’t start when iraq was being attacked the first year. Saudi Arabia was labeling IS as tribal revolutionaries.

Either way it’s about keeping balance. That balance went away with Haider alabadi as Iran wanted him out and they succeeded. Now we have a weak government in and we have to wait for the next elections. God know whose next to lead for another for 4. I think I’m going to die before seeing any real progress.

Nobody created AQ in Iraq but some local Iraqi's and some foreigners who came into Iraq. Iraqi's just happen to be victims that AQ made a branch in Iraq. And because they were in middle of war it was harder to stop them. It happened in Egypt in Sinai too, quite a number of foreigners went there. But, regardless of damage they do(which is mostly because of intelligence/military woes in Arab world), it's good that they are still tiny minority compared to huge population of region.

No they shouldn't , not when you have a national army. They should join the army, I don't see any reason for them not to. Unless they sought to serve interests of another country.

If you think government is corrupt, then you need to become creative and do something like the Algerians or Tunisians.

No one wants to fight Saudi arabia or any other country, not sure why you have that impression. Even Iran doesn’t want conflict why would you think iraq wants to engage in a useless battle with Saudi Arabia. We have nothing to gain in any battle against Saudi Arabia or any other country.

This is position of Iraqi state and army, but this is not position of some PMU factions. They make it clear over and over again they will support Iran in any war. And did help Iran in Syria and pledge to help them in any war with Saudi Arabia.

Listen man, you guys make your own choices, but I feel like you don't have the right guidance. There was no need for formation of some PMU factions. And some of them were formed before the war with ISIS. They should have joined the army and adopted professional/national agenda and not religious one. If you guys want a democracy that is. If you want religious bureaucracy that is something else.

I think it is better for saudis to closely collaborate with turkey so such elements who are against both countries interests are eliminated

Saudi Arabia just waits for the US. I don't think US suspected it would get that bad and had advisers on the ground to help Iraqi's organize defenses around Baghdad. And many Iraqi volunteers seemed to hold their ground around those areas. It had to prepare diplomatically for such a coalition and that takes a little time. Keep in mind they did have air support around Baghdad(the apache helicopters).

So what I tell you is don't view ISIS as Sunni Islamist. They are very extreme and mentally ill people who grew up in environment of war and think solution to everything is war/killing. I can't help but think of such people as mentally ill and disturbed. And such people in war zone with free access to weapons/explosives can form into something like that. Even in America you can have right wing shooters form a group like that if it wasn't for US authorities being very good at their job and preventing that.

Hopefully you will see better government for Iraq but its not easy. Look at Algerians, Egyptians, Syrians, Bahraini's, Libyans, etc.... We(minus Palestinians, we elected Hamas and they are not like the rest) have brutal governments and corrupt clergymen and crazy people that support them at all costs and it's really difficult to free ourselves from. Especially when the rest of world thinks we want 'personal freedoms' like taking off scarves and drinking beer. They are detached from reality and have no idea what our protests are over. Even Iranian people face this with Iranian regime. In meantime we have to see what happens in Algeria. It may be first example of successful revolution for a big country.

.
It’s about what we want vs reality. Truth is the average Iraqi citizen doesn’t call the shots. It’s a corrupt government and Iran’s influence is strong. Iraq lacks a strong government and leadership, and that’s what these factions want and live off of. With the current state things are not looking good. Not much can be done until the next elections. There is not enough awareness to create a revolution and some of these militias are ready to kill if anyone stands in their way. That’s for the Shia side.

Meanwhile some Sunni politicians are back to crying about being “marginalized” while Kurds continue to rob Iraq’s resources. We’ll see where this goes...
