ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Monday seized 130 kilograms of explosive material, which was concealed in seven cartons and being transported from Peshawar to Rawalpindi and Islamabad for subversive activities.

During a special checking drive, Sabzi Mandi police arrested four accused, including a woman who were on board a Toyota Hiace van, near Toll Plaza on IJP Road and recovered the explosive material from their possession.

DIG (Operations) Bani Ameen and SSP Tahir Alam Khan had issued special directives to the Islamabad police to ensure thorough checking of all the suspected vehicles entering the capital.

The police registered a case and took two-day physical remand of the accused after producing them in the court. The DIG and SSP acknowledging the good performance of the police team announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the team members.

Meanwhile, DIG (Operations) Bani Ameen on Monday directed district and Islamabad traffic police to launch a joint operation against one-wheeling and arrest those involved in such activities. SHOs, traffic beat-in charges will face disciplinary action in case of one-wheeling found happening in their areas.

The DIG taking strict notice of these activates, have warned SHOs and traffic beat in charges of strict disciplinary action in case such road stunts where reported in their areas. He also directed crackdown against those who prepare motorbikes for such activities.

IGP Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam has also appealed to parents to abstain their children for getting involved in such life threatening games, which also put other peoples’ life at risk.

Express 24/7 correspondernt Sohail Chaudhry reported that the explosives were being carried into Islamabad from Peshawar on a Toyota HiAce vehicle bearing the number plate C-1784.

Islamabad police have arrested a woman named Amtri Bibi, who was allegedly carrying the explosives into the capital. She has been shifted to the women’s police station for questioning.

A case has also been registered in Islamabad under section 5/6 Explosives Act.

Security in the capital has been increased after a terrorist attack in Pakpattan at the Baba Farid shrine in October this year.

99% people of this nation not believe on these Police and agencies statements because of huge corrption and many other issues. Few days back Hamid Nawaz said in some current affair program that security agencies and police did such kind of things (like above but actually fake) to just get trust on themself and show the people that we are doing well n active thats it (this is fake) nothing else more. We never saw any kind of terrorist hold by any agency and take him/her in front of media.. and if any kind of person captured he or she released after few days or never hear any kind of news about those who captured. So 99% of population of this country not trust on such news..

whereas the other reports only the woman and said she was carrying explosive.

No mentioning of the driver, names of other people arrested

Its the same Islamabad police that had killed an innocent man and later placed stuff including a jacket along his body and termed him a suicide bomber

No offence brother/sister but are you seriously that naive? I doubt it. Every terrorist cell has more than 1 person behind the act. I don't want to go into the logistics of it but we all know the reason they are still able to hit the their targets deep is because of their C2C and their innate ability to exploit weak-spots.

I remember a budha baba captured while smuggling bullets once, i am sure he looked quite innocent.

Since when people have started to make Judgements on the basis of looks, those 15-16 year old suicide bombers will also look innocent before they blow themselves up.
