POF is run by people who are out of touch with modern trends and opportunities.

* We could have sold loads of LeeEnfield collector's items in the US civilian market. Those one were built at POF. That opportunity is still available.

* PK-8 was rejected by PA but we could have added pictiny rails on its handguard, made it suitable for taking AR mags, sights and supressors. A cost effective 5.56mm rifle could have been an export option and a USARA compliant semi auto variant for the US civilian market.

* Could have sold collectors item G3s

* We could have been a launchpad for NORINCO arms to be rebranded in Pakistan and sold in the US and other markets while NORINCO getting a piece.

I think the Research and Development should be taken off from POF and given to DESTO and NESCOM. Let the top scientists deveolop and design, small and medium arms.

POF should look into more commercial exports to get revenues, phase out those machines they still use from the 60s, harness the old gunsmithing tradition and use it for commercial gain.

POF also has pathetic marketing team, they have an ugly website, no youtube channel or even a facebook page. We can help them in this regard only if they are willing to give us the access.

You just nailed it my friend ...I have seen inside the POF ....I felt as if I had come to a garage where mechanics were working like hard labor ...Their best sell item is 12 bore Shaheen Cartridge :bunny:...their 9mm rounds are the most pathetic rounds both in looks and in performance available in the market ...Chinese and Czech rounds are way ahead in competition...even check their paint upon the guns ...it seems like they've simply dipped it in a drum of paint and no more heed afterwards was felt necessary ...They won't let you help them in anyway ...They don't like anyone who comes up with something original or appealing ...I could go on and on about how incompetent they are but of no use ..:hitwall:

If that target was shot at from 600m, I'd buy the rifle, if I can. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the shot on the top could be a cold shot whereas the rest are quite a good, tight group :) It's great for deployment in the police and Border forces. May even be used to cover special forces teams.

POF rounds are always perfect. I haven't ever encountered an FTF on them. Ever. Sure the finish is bad on the guns, but, they're intended to be used in the field. Finishing is usually marred after a few firefights :P

This is exactly the puorpse for this Gun is designed

The target report can be explained as below.

* Shooter was using a standard Acog sight instead of a proper Sniper scope.

* Shooter had no bipod, therefore decreasing stability and accuracy.

* Shooter had no second point of contact since the foregrip was off.

* Shooter's own skills are unknown.

Lolz ....Few months ago I went to the market to buy some 9mm rounds ...I faced on FTF on those hastily done rounds ...The Chinese, Czech and US rounds were shining and performing awesome ...I loved the Chinese rounds myself ...they were low cost and high performance ...but the over all winner was US rounds ....no big residue in the barrel afterwards ...Shaheen rounds are excellent no doubt ...specially the Green color BB round is awesome ...! See the finishing of PK-9 pistol (Beretta Clone) and would want to throw it away ...

POF is run by people who are out of touch with modern trends and opportunities.

* We could have sold loads of LeeEnfield collector's items in the US civilian market. Those one were built at POF. That opportunity is still available.

It's not POF's fault, its their mandate and responsibility, a matter which I will be addressing shortly.

* PK-8 was rejected by PA but we could have added pictiny rails on its handguard, made it suitable for taking AR mags, sights and supressors. A cost effective 5.56mm rifle could have been an export option and a USARA compliant semi auto variant for the US civilian market.

1. That is a very extensive overhaul and the R&D associated with it, makes it impractical especially considering the fact that there is a very limited market for Pakistan manufactured arms.

* Could have sold collectors item G3s

It's a prohibited bore weapon, and thus is illegal for sales within the country.

* We could have been a launchpad for NORINCO arms to be rebranded in Pakistan and sold in the US and other markets while NORINCO getting a piece.

POF's prime responsibility is that they need to meet the needs of the Armed Forces, any civilian sales or export contracts are a piece of desert that is not an essential part of the meal but great if you can get some. Thus the effort associated with this venture especially with the limited market as I stated above, makes it an unlikely strategy.

I think the Research and Development should be taken off from POF and given to DESTO and NESCOM. Let the top scientists deveolop and design, small and medium arms.

Let's make it clear that no one does small arms and assault rifles better than POF, these guys make so many prototypes based on the same roller delayed blow back mechanism that they could give H&K a lesson or two as well, however, not all prototypes can be put to production and thus end up becoming the piece of pride on the POF's museum wall.

POF should look into more commercial exports to get revenues, phase out those machines they still use from the 60s, harness the old gunsmithing tradition and use it for commercial gain.

Once again, POF is not a profit oriented organization and has to develop all its models based on the operational requirements of the Pak Army and any export that we can secure whilst effectively meeting that end is the icing on the cake.

POF also has pathetic marketing team, they have an ugly website, no youtube channel or even a facebook page. We can help them in this regard only if they are willing to give us the access.

I can talk about that, let's see if I can get this plan working.

I think its the sar. 223 hes talking about

This is SAR223 below, It's currently produced to replace M4A1s in service. Maybe you meant the MPT-76 which is the recently adopted main service rifle.

You mean new Turkish Gun well we should get it with TOT if it pass tests will it replace G3 ?

The MPT-76 is an AR-10 derivative using 7.62 NATO caliber. It is part of the Future Soldier program TEK-ER. Deliveries have started a few months ago. It will be the standard service rifle by the beginning of 2015. Replacing millions of G-3A7s and H&K-33Es in service and reserve. Maube we can send them to Pakistan. I mean the HK33E. Because some amount of G-3A7s had been given to Libyan Army when MPT-76 was given to Turkish Forces at Cybrus.

i can't say i'm impressed by any of these weapons. the design is old, and the pak army has rejected this, we could have turned to iran and asked them for there M-16 designs and turned that into an M4 it wouldn't have been easy buy its better then this.

.
East or west, our infantry will still use ak47 or g3 despite newrifles made by POF

Well at least we should test this and the moment we have money we can get it with TOT

I can't understand why people are saying we should go for HK 33 instead off G 3 man we have already improved G 3 a lot if we had to replace them only good option is MPT-76 or HK 417
