This aircraft would be converted as MPA and would be used in following roles
I might be wrong but it appear that PN is trying to replicate SAAB swordfish MPA
- Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)
- To counter asymmetric maritime threats and challenge
- Anti-surface warfare (ASuW)
- Anti-submarine warfare(ASW)
- Airborne Early Warning (AEW)
- Training
- Search and Rescue
something like this in regional jet category ....HRK, bro but the aircraft will be a twin engine jet aircraft ?
and this is what I said based on documented requirementJust a guess on what @HRK is saying.
We are not even accepting landing gears which might fall under ITAR category .....as per my understanding currently PN is acquiring Jet which in the second stage will be fitted with required ITAR free systems via third party probably in Germany, more or less same model as ATR-72 conversion into MPA
So, the weird thing is that the simplest solution for an LRMPA would've been the Bombardier Global 6000 -- i.e., ITAR-free, and a proven military platform. However, the PN is asking for a larger platform (that must still be ITAR-free), which is rare. I was going to say the only platform that would fit the PN's requirement is the Sukhoi Superjet 100, and even then, it's MTOW is still 20,000 lb short.something like this in regional jet category ....

following is one of the criteria which the Fuselage of the jet is required to match [posting only required year of manufacturing and flying hours]

Yep ... the PN is basically copying Saab's Swordfish MPA.Seaspray 7300E also equips Saab Globaleye. So this is interesting that PN would pretty much opt for a similar capability set, using subsystems directly without going via Saab. They seem to be going for Italian Navy MPA type options, except ITAR-free.
I still hope they opt for the Osprey series for this XL version.
Given the range on these radars, these birds can scan 360,000 sq.km of area. Having one or two supplement Orions at all moments and our EEZ is pretty well covered.
They probably got the details on subsystems involved. Which shouldn’t be too hard for them to get and may be pay for a consultancy on this project, if Saab couldn’t sell the product to us for political reasons. It wouldn’t be the first time Pakistan opted to get EU consultants to work on one of its projects. This still would mean a few million dollars in Saab’s pocket, and an ITAR-free system for us.Yep ... the PN is basically copying Saab's Swordfish MPA.
But here's something interesting... Saab isn't offering the Swordfish MPA to anyone now, it took the product off its catalog. So, on the one hand we have reports of Saab declining the Swordfish to the PN, but on the other hand, we have it killing the product entirely and, conveniently, the PN starting its own project.
Does anyone else think the PN just bought the design documents of the Swordfish from Saab? @HRK
this is what I was thinking PN is seeking a jet bigger then Global-6000 but jet in this category would not come on bargain price, the baseline Global-7500 cost +72 million US dollar and even after limited use [in <04K >500 flying hours range] its price would not come down drastically so PN might settle with Global-6000The winning aircraft will likely be the Bombardier Global 6000.
What is the range of scanning of 7300? I can't find of 7300Seaspray 7300E also equips Saab Globaleye. 600KM - Radius. What is the range of scanning of 7300? I can't find of 7300
buying design documents from SAAB seems difficult, but surely PN is trying SAAB Swordfish MPA replicaDoes anyone else think the PN just bought the design documents of the Swordfish from Saab?
The PN said it wants an LRMPA in the jet tender, but it hasn't released an integration tender yet (I'm guessing it'll come after they secure the aircraft). In all likelihood, integration work will probably go to RAS in Germany.buying design documents from SAAB seems difficult, but surely PN is trying SAAB Swordfish MPA replica
nope .... but my opinion in the presence of 6-7 P-3C and 2 ATR-72 in MPA role PN would go for at least 2 such systems for minimum otherwise in ideal situation I would love to see 4 such systems in PNAny news about how many are planned?
Wow. Thats Gr8. Longer than ZDK 3s600KM - Radius.
exactly If am not wrong they were expecting order for 2 more ATR-72 conversion ....The PN said it wants an LRMPA in the jet tender, but it hasn't released an integration tender yet (I'm guessing it'll come after they secure the aircraft).
