PML-N senator threatens consequences for those 'grilling' Hussain Nawaz

This is a :pakistan:senator ?

In politics nothing happens by accident message has been sent and now comes the damage recovery!!

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday suspended membership of Senator Nehal Hashmi after the party leader gave a threatening statement and hurled open threats to those conducting accountability of the premier and his family, ARY News reported.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif summoned Hashmi to the PM House and expressed immense displeasure of his statement. The premier has also reportedly asked Hashmi to tender his resignation from the Senate.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr. Asif Kirmani earlier confirmed that a show cause notice has been issued to Hashmi and disciplinary action would be taken against him.

The prime minister had disassociated himself from the threatening statement given by Hashmi while seeking an explanation from him.

@Mansoon - it's done with blessing of Nawaz $harif, he gave go ahead in yesterday's meeting after he presided the cabinets meeting. It is from horses mouth; who was part of the meeting of hawks as they call it.

Strategy is old PMLN style; Good Cop Bad Cop!

Fired the shot; if it achieves the "purpose" then it's good. If it doesn't, then alienate from Hashmi to a degree. (Remember Mushahidullah, Parvez Rashid, Tareq Fatemi).

However, message is clear that I had stated before in last months posts; bureaucracy is severely compromised and easier to twist and turn than judiciary as it doesn't directly report to Executive.

Z Hamid was given a message; and Hashmi became misguided missile, if Z Hamid wouldn't have gotten the message then NHashmi would have been termed as "successful trial-hit target with 100% accuracy."

Calculated risk by $harif, it's worth taking it in desperate times, like in BBC interview and Dawn Leaks. It's do or die for $harifs, and if I were their advisor, most probably would have advised them on the similar lines.

Hashmi is a pawn, and least important person to sacrifice for potentially bigger gain.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took suo motu notice of Nehal Hashmi's speech in which he threatened the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s unidentified ‘enemies’.

The CJP has also summoned Hashmi on Thursday.

Earlier, Prime Minister suspended the party membership of Hashmi and directed him to tender his resignation from Senate, informed Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb.

The party authorities have also issued a show cause notice to the PML-N leader and have instructed him to step down from the party position of General Secretary PML-N Sindh.

Sources have informed that Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani summoned Hashmi lately to the PM office to convey the displeasure of the premier over his statements.

Dr Kirmani told Hashmi that PM Nawaz has taken strict notice of his statement and demanded him to give clarification for his speech.

Earlier, a video emerged of a Nehal Hashmi, in which he was seen threatening the prime minister’s unidentified ‘enemies’.

"The one you are investigating is the PM's son," Hashmi roared.

Without identifying who he was referring to, Hashmi said, “You will not be spared; you are in service now but remember you will retire tomorrow.”

"Those investigating us [must know] we will observe your day of judgment,” he stated further.

In the video, Hashmi also lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan, casting doubts over the money trail of his Bani Gala estate. “We will reduce the space in this country for your kids and your family," he added.

However, speaking to Geo News later, Hashmi said he was referring to politicians and not anyone else.

“The retirement reference was just rhetoric, I am a lawyer myself and was not referring to judges,” he claimed. He explained that those who take everything from Pakistan yet sing to others’ tunes were my target.

Hashmi tenders resignation
Nehal Hashmi has resigned from his Senate membership. He forwarded his resignation to Senate secretary, citing "inevitable reasons" due to which he could not continue to further discharge his responsibilities as a senator.

The resignation will now be forwarded to the Senate chairman for approval.

'Suspension right step'
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Naeem-ul-Haque while talking to Geo News said that Hashmi’s membership suspension was the right step.

“Nehal Hashmi has lost control of his senses,” said Haque, adding that such people should not be a member of the Parliament or the provincial assemblies.

Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Saeed Ghani also condemned Hashmi’s speech, saying that whatever he said was part of the PML-N’s mindset.

@Mansoon - Thanks for sharing above!

The room in which N Hashmi was speaking has clear resonance of an empty'ish room*.

One can easily make what is 2+2 ....but since everything is so convoluted that answer will never be 4.

-----------

* Pun intended - maybe empty'ish room had MN$ and N $harif only :)

What's interesting is the threatening posture and especially of the man behind him who was clearly placed there - just look at how he keeps staring forward with that 'don't mess with us look'. PMLN is a thug party, and that is clear. Sometimes I feel that there should be a ruthless and bloody safaya of such people.

Hi,

It is not an empty room---it is a room full with audience---it is the speakers / sound system---that is creating the resonence---a common practice of cheap sound systems + the cement wall in the background.
