SIALKOT: Pakistan Muslim League Leader and Former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi says he will build Kalabagh dam after coming into power with victory in the 2018 general election.​

​

“Early establishment of the dam is the need of the hour and the PML has put it on top of its agenda for national prosperity and development,” he said at a convention of the party workers held here on Thursday.​

​

He also pledged to provide affordable electricity to the masses at the rate of Rs3 per unit all over the country.​

​

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had no moral right to stay in power after the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama Papers’ case.​

​

He said Nawaz Sharif was not “Sadiq” and “Ameen” as observed by the SC judges but still he was not ready to quit. He urged the premier to tender resignation in the national interest and face the public court.​

​

He alleged that the rulers were plundering the national wealth and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was spending Punjab’s 63pc budget only in Lahore by neglecting the other parts of the province.​

​

The PML workers kept chanting “Go Nawaz go” slogan during the workers’ convention.​

Lahore : Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the present rulers are making commission not electricity, answer to increasing water aggression of Modi is Kalabagh dam, he is stopping water of Pakistan by constructing dams on our three rivers, silence of Nawaz Sharif over Kulbhushan, armed and water aggression of Modi is proof of his playing role of Modi’s facilitator.

Addressing a press conference at his residence here , he said people throughout Pakistan including Karachi and Lahore are protesting for electricity and water, younger brother continued raising slogans of giving electricity in six months and one year but even after ruling in the center for four years they have not been able to give electricity.

Ch Pervaiz Elahi emphatically appealed to all political parties for saving future generations and better future of Pakistan they should sink all their mutual differences and support Kalabagh dam so that all get electricity and water, it may be named as Pakistan dam because after construction of this dam Sindh will get maximum of 40 lakhs, Punjab will get 22 lakhs, Khyber Pukhtoonkhwah (KPK) will receive 20 lakhs and Balochistan will get 15 lakh acres feet additional water, our Punjab government provided farmers electricity at half price which after construction will be available free whereas ordinary people will get electricity at Rs 2. 50 to Rs 3 per unit.

He said because of this in the NFC meeting he had offered to all the four Chief Ministers to give preference to other provinces for evolving consensus over construction of Kalabagh dam but Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif had bargained electricity, gas and water of Punjab for their power “whereas there was no load shedding during my government, payments to the departments were made timely”.

He pointedly stated that no harm will come to anyone with Kalabagh dam and rather four provinces will benefit with and Sindh getting maximum benefit, even to say that Nowshera will be drowned with the construction of Kalabagh dam is not correct because last flood in Nowshera had also not come due to Kalabagh dam.




He said that Bhasha dam will take 12 years and Dasu dam will take another three years but Kalabagh dam can be constructed in just six years at a cost of 9 billion dollars whereas in Pakistan floods have caused losses of more than 40 billion dollars during last five years. He said India is opposed to this dam whereas many former Chairmen of WAPDA including Shamsul Mulk are its active supporters, Nawaz Sharif’s friend Narendra Modi besides armed aggression is also increasing water aggression as a result of which water in rivers Jhelum, Chenab and Indus will be reduced but N-League has not protested against Indian water aggression at any forum.

Moonis Elahi visited the protest camp of the employees of Gujrat Municipal Corporation.








Gujrat: Pakistan Muslim League Senior Leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi visited the protest camp of the employees of Gujrat Municipal Corporation against non-payment of their four-month salary.
Moonis Elahi, who during his visit was accompanied by scores of party workers, was given a warm welcome by the protesting employees for showing solidarity with them.





The MC employees have been protesting against the injustice at the Nawab Sahib Chowk.

The protesters chanted slogans against the MC authorities and city mayor who belonged to PML-N.

They told to Mr. Moonis Elahi that due to the non-payment of salaries they and their families had been facing hardships.

They deplored that none of the concerned officials had so far paid any heed to their issues.

Moonis Elahi condemned the PML-N government for its “anti-poor” policies and assured the protesters of his support. He said he would raise the issue in the Punjab Assembly.

As many as 30 daily-wage employees of Gujrat MC have not been paid salaries since December.

Forget Dawn Leaks, all parties must focus Panama case JIT: Pervez Elahi

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has advised all the parties to forget the Dawn Leaks and focus instead on the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Panama case.​

​

Addressing PML Workers Convention in Faisalabad, Pervaiz Elahi said that the rulers are traders who made money even in the Ashiyana Housing Scheme. He claimed that the government’s claims about the end of load shedding are also lies. He added that consumers were being provided electricity at Rs 18 per unit.​

​

Pervez Elahi said that Kalabagh Dam must be made and it can be renamed to Pakistan Dam if someone has a problem with the name. He announced that PML would provide free electricity to the farmers when in power. He claimed that half the bill of the tube-well was borne by the government during his tenure.​

​

He added that Kalabagh Dam will help everyone and Sindh will have surplus water. He said that all others were lying on Kalabagh Dam. He said that Bhasha Dam would take 12 years to complete while Kalabagh Dam could be made within 6 years only.​

​

He claimed that factories were running during his tenure while they have been shut down today. He added that one of PML-N minister from Faisalabad was the mastermind of Model Town tragedy in 2014.​

​

Pervaiz Elahi challenged that there were more development works in his tenure than Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure. He added that the only thing rising in the country under the current government was number of robberies and suicides.​
