PMA Kakul Cadets mount guard at Quaid's mausoleum
Associated Press of Pakistan
KARACHI: A smartly turned out contingent of the Gentlemen Cadets from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, mounted the guard at the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam here on Thursday as part of celebrations to mark the Quaid's birthday.
Maj Gen Raheel Sharif, Commandant Pakistan Military Academy reviewed the parade before mounting of guard, laid a wreath at the mazar, presented the salute and offered fateha.
It is worth mentioning that the first passing out parade was held on December 25, 1948 at the Pakistan Military Academy. It was reviewed by the then Governor General of Pakistan, Khawaja Nazimuddin and presented the Quaid-e-Azam Banner to the champion company.
Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul has the singular honour of being the only military institution, designated as "Quaid-e-Azam's Own" by the Father of the Nation himself. He was the first and only Colonel-in-Chief of the Academy
