Pakistan has been an independent country for past 70 years it's about time we stopped begging and selling our conscience for military toys.

Its not conscience, its being rational and pragmatic. Palestinian issue 'used' to be more a headache of Middle eastern countries not Pakistan. And even by recognizing Israel, it will not mean that we are giving up from independent Palestine state policy. Perhaps by engaging Israeli officials directly, we can raise up Palestine cause more efficiently. By not talking to Israelis, we have not achieve anything nor the world cares.

There is nothing more official than the king's decision, statements and announcements echoed by the Crown Prince and the minister of foreign affairs.. and this has happened many times in just this year.. so the Saudi position is well known.. no recognition of Usrael until the two state solution is implemented on the ground..

Now it is even more so with the UAE and Bahrain normalization with Usrael.. Saudi Arabia can communicate with the latter indirectly through the UAE or Bahrain or both.. but it won't normalize with Usrael itself and does not need to.. It is clear ..

Pakistan needs to ignore these requests. There will be a change of regime in the USA in the next few weeks, and everything will change again ... Israel will have less influence with the Biden regime, then it had via the Trump regime, though there will still influence..

AIPAC is very much in charge of the Biden administration that it has been with the Trump administration. The only difference is the style that each group pursues to carry out their policies. Trump took the Evangelical approach when it comes to Israel, and Biden's approach will be more like the traditional American approach - which is committed to Israel but also pursues an empire building. In essence, there will be no substantive policy differences but definitely the style in which they approach on issues.
