PM Modi's Address at United Nations General Assembly

My bad. Corrected!

It really is difficult to think and type, with my 8 months old daughter trying to do the same at the same time

Now we know where your intelligent posts come from... :D

God bless her..

Modi is a crowd puller.

When talks the world listens.

Good or bad leader only time will tell.

Yes, I don't like it.

The Kashmiris should have been afforded the storm trooper treatment, especially @Armstrong But the last time an Indian jawa tried to baton charge him, he got tired of hitting Armstrong because his fat acted as shock absorbers

This is quite interesting. For a substantial amount of people, he has not delivered as quickly on economic reforms, but has been good in foreign policy where has exceeded expectations.

Btw, The translation in post #36 is a lot diluted, his original speech was much more assertive and to the point.

And did you notice this part of his speech below? He actually said that "Previously seas used to connect people, now seas have become an instrument of conflicts"..........he is playing on the front foot, and it is a good thing, if we continuously play defensive with a bully, the bully gets more motivated and aggressive.

Today, even as seas, space and cyber space have become new instruments of prosperity, they could also become a new theatre of conflicts.

His original speech was far more assertive and to the point in case of Pakistan also, this translation was done in a very soft & diplomatic manner, the speech about G 20 to G-ALL is also seems to be missing. @anant_s where did you get this translation?

The guy is a natural at delivering extempore speeches.

he has not delivered as quickly on economic reforms
I think he deserves to get some more time. Things are definitely looking up, even if the pace of reforms is little slow.
A lot depends on how he goes about reducing fiscal deficit and improving the investment cycle. I'm sure there will be far clearer policies in Govt's next Union budget.

I copied it from a news channel's site.

here the actual text of his speech.

Kashmir issue is not an issue of terrorism. Its a issue of territorial dispute. India and Pakistan should work out their differences. I would suggest that both make the current line of control the international border and stop fighting.

There is a territorial dispute in the USA going on between the Natives and the settlers from Britain. First bring this to settlement. We also want the UN to start a trial on genocide of natives and slave trade.

As far as Kashmir is concerned, the US or UN has no say in it. The Parliament of India has already said that J&K is an integral part of India.

As far as terror is concerned, I see 9/11 as a legitimate act of Bin Laden who had his revenge for murder of ME people by NATO and Israel. How does it feel loosing 5000 civilians and equal number of soldiers?
