Not true in Hindu religious traditions (sects). Roots will establish its claim to legitimacy and authenticity (referred as guru parampara- spiritual/religious lineage). While in the case of Swami Narayan its link to Tamil vaisnavite lineage is controversial. However their philosophy is align to Tamil vaisnavism i.e visistadvaita

If any philosophy has "masculine" angle than for me it would be Buddhism cause it follows the same pattern of a religion for it's creation and clear cut view about life.If you compare Buddhism to any other eastern philosophy you will see even in western world Buddhism has very strong base among pure westerners and it's growing compared to any other eastern philosophy when others are next to nil.
