Not surprised. Every one of my relatives are involved in some fiddle or other. However she is now paying the tax etc which speaks volumes of the change we have in Pakistan that sister of the sitting PM is being brought to book.

Its good to see there is a penalty enforced on what has surfaced so far (and definitely thats a big step from previous administration where this thing would likely never have been allowed to surface...so kudos to IK govt on that)

But I feel like @Horus says, it is still a litmus test in that there has to be follow up on the paper trail etc as to how this money got routed overseas in first place. Lets wait and see how it all goes on that I guess.

But overall this kind of stuff notably improving will help Pakistan improve on the corruption perception index even more for sure.

Commission/fees from international contracts paid in overseas accounts with which the overseas property was purchased. It is unlikely the money was laundered out of Pakistan, otherwise Nawaz and co would have caught this a while back. She owns http://www.cotcon.com.pk/ and has big name international clients so the contracts wouldn't have been small in value.

Wait I though Sharif clan was already convincted for not providing money trail of foreign properties. I bet they will take offer of 50% penalty in a second if offered. This is where whole accountability drama fall apart. Sharif clan isn't the only chor family of Pakistan.
