Mere Bhai! Imran Khan came to change the dirty politics and yet he resorted to something so UNNCESSARY like the step his Speaker did. Pakistan's problems are rooted in the deviations from the Constitution starting from the late 1950s. If exceptions are allowed today then tomorrow Bilawal or Hamza Shahbaz or some other guy may also want that kind of illegal exceptions. And no, Imran Khan and his PTI could never forever remain in power. Study the history of Pakistan: Power has changed many times; it ain't no Saudi Arabia there.
Imran was going to win either way--the NCV failing or NCV succeeding. And I had said such before the Sunday rejection of the NCV by the Speaker. But Imran has lost not only the Constitutional argument but also the high moral ground by resorting to something which was not even necessary. Even by losing the NCV vote, Imran would have won. Did you guys really think the bunch of looters and opportunists from a dozen conflicting parties and pressure groups would hold on to power for the next 1 year against a revitalized and cleaned up PTI holding the high moral ground??
Let me say from the start I was and still not in favour of the path taken by PTI to deal with the threat of NCV , days before they adopted such approach, I opened a thread and listed the "Trump Cards" in IK's hands.
That included resigning from the NA seats.
Dissolution of the Parliaments in Punjab , at the time there was no NCV in Punjab, Buzdar could have easily dissolve the assembly by legal means.
Dissolution of Parliekment in KPK , Kashmir, and Norther Areas, all controlled by PTI.
And also PTI members resigning from Sind Assembly, making it also irrelevent.
If PTI has done all that , it would all be legal and would have rendered the remaining assemblies i,e. NA and Sind Assembly irrelevant and unworkable.
But IK wasn't advised properly and he went for the options he did. wrong advice and approach in my eyes.
The only reason going in to the favour of this approach was to stop the opposition holding the Parliament even for couple of days. They could have passed the laws to reverse Electoral Voting , overseas Pakistanis vote, and probably got rid of NAB too.
They could have achieved this with in couple of sesssions of NA. In the absence of PTI they would have only their members sitting in the NA thus making it easier for them to pass the laws.
Imran acted this way after legal advice just to stop the opposition. He wasn't bothered to lose the right to govern, as he has resigned himself. So holding on to the power wasn't his ambition or goal.
I hope SCP looks at it in the same light and do not order restoration of Status Quo , that would be a disaster for Pakistan, mark my words. The best option is to go for the elections and let the people decide. rather than opposition thugs or foreign powers.
