He made a valid point people need to be held responsible. Their irresponsible act caused the death..

The Pakistan Army is not some third rate army there are stringent health and safety checks in place, you can never reduce accidents to ZERO %, accidental death is not negligent, it is accidental. No amount of risk management and safe practices can rule out 100% incidents.

hmm... i didn't realize that it was an accident. I felt it was due to negligence that the well was left witout fencing or at least markings. my bad and RIP for the cadet

Who's trolling? You're talking out of your hat as usual. In the past 50 years in all training establishments in India there has been just one accident of a GC slipping into well at night but was pulled out as he was tied with a rope with the others.

So don't talk rubbish like a feather brain when you know squat about the precautions that need to be taken by GCs under training. Become an instructor at a training establishment first so you get to know what the SOPs are. Otherwise just pipe down and don't exhibit your utter ignorance in such matters.

It seems that whenever whatever an indian says regarding a Pakistani matter....some members consider it trolling.... whether indians drive their tanks into wells or wall, how does it give us a clean chit not to take precautionary measures? Please get out of the "Atleast we are better than indians in this thing" attitude... this attitude means that if indians are lowest in some thing we are second lowest in samething and proud on this achievement....

This amounts to dereliction of duty and a couldn't-care-less attitude by the staff of the academy. They need to be hauled up and heads need to roll for this needless loss of life.

A ton of speculation and not saying that someone is not at fault. What you suggest about the markings is only possible if the cadet stayed within the exercise area. In map reading exercises, people do get lost. For a senior GC, that seems odd, but then again, not sure of the circumstances. Perhaps was a night ex.

Regarding the bickering going on.

1) No military activity is completely devoid of risks. Its up to commander to establish the acceptable level of risk during that activity.

2) Having a cadet fall in a dry well IMO is a risk that could have been easily mitigated.

3) I'm sure this accident will be investigated by the responsible authorities and hopefully actions put in place that will prevent such unnecessary loss of lives in future.

From what I have heard from another GC (also participating in ex-Path Finder), the well was covered by bushes and other stuff, making it look like normal patch of grass.
