The hindu community is building the mandir themeselves, the govt simply provided the land. So I dont understand what you are getting so upset about. However even if the government did, how is it any different from a government built masjid?

Because pakistan constitution is based on Islamic Ideology.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_Islamic_Ideology

Bro maybe u lived in UK ask to masjid imam how they built masjid in UK, they will say to by taking charity from muslim community and tax relaxation from govt, this is how job done by both UK govt n Britisher Muslims for constructing Masjid.

.
hahahha extremist interpretation. 96.28 percent are muslim in Pk, where from u bring TTP n ISIS ??? oh man take knowledge from QURRAN. Already pakistan has so many Hindu temple. I only against making of temple by pakistani muslim MONEY $$$.

If hindu communtiy wants to build temple govt should give them land for making and construction MONEY should be given by HINDU COMMUNITY NOT by Gvt of Pakistan.

Have u ever visit jinnah hospital karachi ? just have a look their doctors says govt is not giving money for maintenance. and other hand gvt is doing all other shit. First fix all going issue then give to other social things.

OK, those who does not classify themselves as muslim tell them give money for construction and govt dont take tax from them as this happen in all our the world specially in USA/UK.
But every Tom, Dick and Harry moans that his govt is not giving him free money. How does that justify not giving money for a Hindu temple (assuming the need is there and assuming similar moneys go to masjids)? Frankly, it's pathetic that some excuse has been found to marginalise our minority communities yet again. Do you not think external entities will now foot the bill and gain influence among Pakistani Hindus? To cancel this building seems a poor decision. It's hardly like mandirs are taking over Pakistan now is it?

.
Well religious discussions are not allowed, but now if I read a post by a Pakistani member on PDF about Islamophobia, mistreatment or infringement of Muslim rights in say Frankfurt or China I will revert back to the asinine vitriol spewed in this thread by the same.

Okay but since it doesnt contradict Islamic ideology, then why do you have a problem.

As for the UK, the govt doesnt provide any money for construction but the same rule applies to all religions equally including for christians. Its different in Pakistan because the govt builds masjids using public funds, so its only fair that all taxpayers of Pakistan are treated equally.

CDA stops construction of boundary wall at temple’s site in Islamabad

Workers build a boundary wall at the temple’s site on Friday. They were stopped from constructing the wall by the CDA’s enforcement and building control departments later in the day. — White Star

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday stopped construction of the boundary wall on the plot meant for the temple citing legal reasons, while the prime minister will direct the religious affairs ministry to forward the summary regarding allocation of grant for the worship place to the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) for advice.

On the other hand, the religious affairs ministry clarified its position, stating that it only helped renovate places of worship belonging to religious minorities and did not build new ones.

This message was circulated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on social media groups, including twitter.

On Friday, a joint team of the CDA’s enforcement and building control departments reached the site of the temple in H-9/2 and directed workers to stop constructing the boundary wall.

Summary for grant of allocation to be sent to CII for advice

The Hindu Panchayat Islamabad stopped the work and decided to approach the CDA on Monday to seek permission for commencing the construction.

“We abide by the rules but construction of a boundary wall was necessary as some people, backed by a few seminary students, had set up tents on the plot in 2018, and it took several months for us to get the place cleared with the help of the capital administration,” PTI MNA Lal Chand Malhi said.

Meanwhile, CDA spokesman Mazhar Hussain said the building control laws of the civic authority clearly stated that no activity could take place on a plot until the building plan (map) was approved.

However, a senior officer of CDA’s enforcement department acknowledged that it was possibly the first time that this clause had been enforced as all owners were allowed to construct boundary wall and ensure possession of their plot while formalities regarding approval of the map continue. Mr Malhi, on the other hand, said the Panchayat had submitted the building plan to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the minister, Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, had forwarded it along with a summary for grant of Rs100 million to the prime minister for construction of the building.

The official system is that if the summary is approved by the prime minister, the building plan will be forwarded to the Ministry of Housing and Works and Pak PWD will submit the building plan to the relevant civic body, that is CDA. The finance ministry will then release the approved funds to Pak PWD for the construction.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammad Imran, however, said the summary for the issuance of grant for the construction had been forwarded to the prime minister.

“The prime minister will decide on the funds for the construction of a place of worship for the minority population,” the spokesman said, adding that “the prime minister will decide taking into account all social and religious aspects”.

The spokesman also said the government will seek guidance and advice from the Council of Islamic Ideology over the summary forwarded to the prime minister.

This demand was made on July 1 by clerics belonging to the JUI-F, Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith and those affiliated with Lal Masjid and other seminaries of the capital.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, while replying to the objections raised by the clerics, clarified that the plot for the temple was allotted by CDA in 2017 on the directions of the National Commission for Human Rights and not the religious affairs ministry.

Responding to another allegation made by the clerics in their press conference on Thursday that the ministry was releasing funds for the temple’s construction, the spokesman clarified that “the ministry does not release funds for construction of minority places of worship; the Ministry of Religious Affairs repairs and renovates the places of worship belonging to the religious minorities.”

In the same statement, the ministry said the Hindu community was building the temple with its own resources on the plot allotted to them.

Decision to release funds for construction will be taken keeping in view all social and religious aspects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday directed relevant authorities to consultate the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on the issue of construction of a Hindu temple in Islamabad.

Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri called on PM Imran. During the meeting, the minister appraised the premier about the sensitivity of the issue and reaction coming from the religious and political circles.

Minister Qadri said that the Hindu members of the Parliament had filed an application with the Human Rights Commission in 2017 for the construction of a place of worship.

“At the request of the Ministry of Human Rights, the Capital Development Authority allotted space for the temple in 2017. They had also requested the Ministry of Religious Affairs for funds for temple’s construction.”

He added that the minority community was told earlier that Ministry of Religious Affairs does not release funds for the construction minority places of worship, but repairs and renovates them and that the minister had forwarded the request to the premier. The CDA is responsible for providing space for religious places of worship in Islamabad.

The spokesperson for religious affairs said that Pakistan as a state and government would protect the rights of minorities as enshrined in the constitution. “The Hindu community is building the temple with its own resources.”

According to reports, the PM would decide to release funds of the construction of the temple after considering all social and religious aspects.

The Amnesty International on Tuesday urged Pakistan to take back decision stopping the construction of a temple in Islamabad.

“Everyone has a right to freedom of religion or belief, a right that is guaranteed in Pakistan’s constitution and its international obligations. Halting the construction of a Hindu temple in Islamabad is an unconscionable act of bigotry that must be reversed immediately,” the organisation said.

According to The News, the government last week decided to consult the Council of the Islamic Ideology (CII) on the sensitive issue as the construction work at the site of Hindu temple in Sector H-9/2 has also been stopped for want of a building plan.

The government will seek guidance and consultation from the CII and also respect the opinion of religious circles and leaders in this connection, the spokesman for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony had earlier said.

The plot measuring 3.89 kanals was allotted by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on December 21, 2017, following the CDA board's decision taken at its meeting on December 9, 2016.

Clerics oppose use of state fund on Hindu temple

Earlier reports of government land and funds being allocated for the construction of the temple had been circulating on social media. The Ministry of Religious Affairs had made it clear that it assists religious minorities in repairing and renovating existing places of worship, not building new ones.

Leading cleric Mufti Taqi Usmani and chairman of the government's Central Route Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman have also opposed the construction of the temple at the government's expense.

The foundation stone of the temple was laid recently in Sector H-9 of Islamabad, the land of which was allotted during the previous regime.

IHC reserves decision on petition filed against construction of temple

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday reserved judgement on a petition filed against the construction of a Hindu temple in Islamabad.

During the hearing today, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) told the court that the plot was allotted after consultations from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Special Branch and the Islamabad administration.

The CDA also told the court that the work was halted due to lack of building plan for the temple.

Last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved the release of funds for the construction of the first Hindu temple in Islamabad.

Why do Pakistani Hindus need funds from government to build a temple? They can use their own funds and build it with their own hands. The only thing they need from the government is the freedom to do so. Nothing more.
