Graphite used as 'Anode' in Tesla Battery. There are other countries producing this as well, but Pakistan has one of the biggest untapped graphite resources. The goal of Tesla is to upgrade the existing battery to 4,000 cycles, and make the battery last for 1-million miles. This is only possible with using more materials including Graphite. The amount of graphite produced presently in China and other countries is still not enough for very large scale battery production. Pakistan can really tap into this and become probably the biggest producer of Graphite on the planet. Oil is the fuel of the last century, batteries are the fuel of today and tomorrow.
Pakistan is an example of what can happen when a country is grossly mismanaged. Even groups and individuals that claim to know the problem don’t comprehend the true scale of the problem and what needs to be done to fix it.
I was recently reading about the gold and copper reserves in Pakistan and was shocked to read that only one mine, the reko diq mine has gold reserves worth more than $100 billion; yet the country goes around begging for 1-2 billion dollars almost every year.
Reko Diq sits in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, at the triangular border with Iran and Afghanistan. The mine has gold reserves with an estimated value of more than $100 billion.
Another mine Saindak Copper-Gold mines are making revenue of more than $2-billion a year. It’s unfortunate that Pakistan hasn’t developed its mining industry.
By the end of 2018, he said, “the project had processed more than 70 million tons of ore, produced about 240,000 tonnes of blister copper and achieved sales revenue of about $2.1bn. Until June 2019, the cumulative tax charges and profit share to the Pakistan government reached a total of $437m.
