hmmmm so that solves it,, the bear must have been there to see the city,, sight seeing you know! :)

By the way while i am LOVING your discussion, i do not feel it is the appropriate thread to continue with this. I hope we can take it to "Whatever" page or some other appropriate page. :)

A vulture waiting for a starving boy to die, to eat him. Taken by Kevin Carter, who later committed suicide. 1993

if it was a pack of dogs, they would have eaten him alive.

but such starvation is not natural... it is simply a economic/political game.

i think the photographer would have cried seeing the boy in that situation.

At the moment, he thought his job is just to take a photo. So he did his JOB and moved on without helping the poor soul who was on the way to rescue camp. Sold picture to NY Times I think and won Pulitzer. Later he couldn't bear the burden and committed suicide. Photo went viral everywhere and people inquired about the boy, but his status was reported unknown.

Yes, sadly it is all an economic/political game. As for crying, the photographers were told not to TOUCH the children for the risk of transmission of diseases. So the man just took the photograph and left the girl there. He sold the picture. A few months later he won a Pulitzer for this image and three months later he committed suicide, most probable under the burden of guilt. The fate of the girl in picture remains unknown.

Sadly, despite the picture receiving acclaim for all over the world, winning the most prestigious award in the field, people from all over the world showing interest in knowing the fate of the world and the image touching hearts globally, millions of children have died since due to starvation.
