Pics--> Tejas winter trials

Nice job !! Hope to see Tejas take off from Leh with full weapons load, not just drop tanks :tup:

Is there any plan of thrust vectoring....in upcoming AMCA.

Not much to that really. The Tejas during Leh trials carries round-trip fuel. Leh does not stock up too much on jet fuels. Once the C-17s get operational; then Leh's facilities will be augmented further. BTW, notice that those are the largest D/tanks. So they can fully/partly substituted by weapons loads; assuming that the the Tejas is now operating at MTOW limits for that altitude.

How much runaway does the LCA need? Is the altitude at Leh have anything to do with the these tests?

Yes, very high altitude and very low temperature performances of Tejas is being tested at Leh. AT high altitudes, the air is very thin that means longer takeoff runway is required and also there is a reduction in take off weight. You can compare the takeoff runway of LCA in Leh trials with lets say LCA runway at bangalore. some of the MRCA contenders failed to meet the IAF requirements in Leh trials.
