What's new

PIA ranked among world's best airlines.

Are you sure they have been cannibalized and not surreptitiously sold?
they did controlled cannibalizing of leased aircrafts
which is the most profitable route for pia right now? Is it Canada?

Doesn't australia have a similar sized pak expat population as Canada?
most profitable route at this day is kabul PIA doing now charted flights one side KBL-ISL ticket is 1200$

Patwari version :
PIA ko zero mil Gaya ….

Their story will be "Mouse found under the PIA kitchen cabinet"
Or Air hostess arrested for expired passport

$1200, Pakistan-Afghanistan route seems normal as the risk to airline is higher

USA-CANADA
CANADA -MEXICO
MEXICO -USA

All routes can easily top $800-900 during busy season, and these are stable countries

its really heart breaking to see an airline which can make soo much money in dire straits. I guess common sense is not that common.

If you look at the expat community you see that PIA has solid customer base, folks who can only fly PIA. This includes older expat and women with children and folks with language problems. Also PIA offers convenience of direct flights.

There is no vision

1) Start with adding a 100 rupee per year NIC renewal fee. This automatically brings everyone in the tax net. Exclude children and elders if needed. Payable at all Pakistani banks locally.
2) 20 USD NICOP renewal fee per year - I am sure the expats will pay. The payment system is already in place to pay for passports, nicop abroad.
3) Start direct flights to countries with large expat populations, these include:
Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, etc.
4) Build a rail link to the Saudi peninsula, connect Karachi to Dubai via a rail/cargo link along the Mekran coast.
6) Restart the steel mill so that these new rail links can be built using domestic steel.
7) Pass a law that all affluent sectors in big cites have to move off grid. This means that installing solar panels and using electric cooktops and ovens like it is done in the west - no gas! These houses must have meters which put electricity into the grid instead of consuming during the day.

These are all low hanging fruits which can be done simply by passing legislation.

I don't think 1 and 2 can be done by private sector. The other problem is there is lack of data. If 1 and 2 are indeed done via legislation, how much money are we talking about per year? What is the expat population? How much money will 1 bring in?

Dirty ba****s .

Pia must induct new aircrafts such as A 350 and b 787 and buy A 380 from etihad they r selling it cheap these A 380 would do wonders for hajj and umrah pcked flights they carry more passangers our hajj operations always get full most customers dont get seats with this we carry more passangers more profits
A380s...no one wants. Running costs are astronomical and requires a long runway

Amazing way to keep the citizens undocumented

Bring in Sherifs or Zardaris, the principal assets of the RAW/MOSAD/CIA/MI6 etc., and you’ll see Pak decelerate to -100% in all aspects in ZERO time….

They did rule Pakistan for 15 years combined, atleast; and yet the damage during those 15 years was less than the damage caused by PTI in a mere 2 years. In the same consideration, PTI has done nothing for the long term betterment of the country, similar to PML & PPP hence in this aspect they are equal.
