dude.. its not tax.. Petrol is a deregulated item.. meaning the price is driven by market forces.. with devalued Rupee, the cost of petrol is bound to go up.. Which in turn will reduce oil demand, and reduce pressure on balance of payments and stabilize the Rupee somewhat...
