About KSA, Selling ARAMCO to western companies has made it more complicated, among OPEC members they have the greatest share of the oil production in world market. So China obviously will try to bring them in her own sphere, slowly but surely

If China wants to trade in oil in yuan or gold, who's stopping them? Long as the other side agrees there's no problem. China can use yuan/gold and everybody else can use whatever, including US dollar.

There is no blackmail, but a choice made by other countries to follow the dollar's lead. A choice. China does not need to buy US bonds, nor does Saudi Arabia needs to sell its oil in dollars. Similarity, all other countries are free to pursue policies that serve their own national interests, just like USA does. No problem here.

IF petro dollar didnt matter why did US made a deal with Saudis to only trade in Dollars, they could have asked them to trade in British pounds. USD became reserve currency because every country needs to buy fuel not because it looks pretty
