If Qatar and UAE spend money to import artifacts from other nations to build fancy museums, then don't you expect they'll try to change a name by money just like they are trying to create some history for themselves?
I mean British-created 40 year old countries and their oldest one, Saudi Arabia, which is 84 years old, will do their best to buy some heritage for those desert wastelands, no matter how much scyscrappers they build in them.
And it was Gemal Abdel-Nasser who invented the name during height of Pan-Arab movement in late 50s, you may pay money to some people to use your invented name, but you can't bury the history behind it. That's why UN and +90% of newspapers and media in the world use the correct name.
Arabs can call it whatever they like.
