Female travelers are advised to respect local dress and customs. Women should also ensure their hotel room numbers remain confidential and insist the doors of their hotel rooms have chains, deadlocks, and spy-holes. In addition, it is advisable for women to hire reliable cars and drivers and avoid traveling alone in hired taxis, especially during the hours of darkness. It is preferable to obtain taxis from hotels and pre-paid taxis at airports rather than hailing them on the street. If women encounter threatening situations, they can call 100 for police assistance.

So I believe this thread bursts the myth that Indian's are the only one's discriminating based on religion, caste, color....Good to have some sense and reason back on this forum.

well one thing that i have seen... pathans are not always white... i have seen some realy dark colored pathans and also kashmiris.. and have seen some realy white skin color punjabis and others.. so race or caste are not related to skin color... so i don't agree with this article that pathans and kashmiris are white skin..

If you wanted to prove indians prefer white women you could have posted any article about importance of fair skin color in india instead you went with cheap shots about westerners getting raped face it you didn't post it show indians like whites you did it to provoke btw you should know pakistan has a travel warning too and ask any western white woman who's been to pakistan she will have been told to cover up and avoid crowded places this has nothing to do with islamic sensitivities but for their SAFETY so they don't get perved on or be groped or worse by the men.

So you didn't think rajputs were a martial race till the British told you, how interesting , also you can't compare 20 years of ranjeets success with centuries of consistent success of central asians.

I shouldn't really say this but i will use my right of free thinking and speech and say this all central asians are a superior race to south asians, i take all as equal but its life and some are better then others.

Not necessarily as much as Indian especially those of Dravidian heritage they are so ashamed of skin colour that they spend a fortune bleaching it.

Just because someone speaks pushto and resides in pukhtoon areas does not make him a pukhtoon, a black American lives in America, speaks English but that doesn't make him white does it?.

The topic of why fair skin is revered in the subcontinent stems from the concept that back in the day, the wealthy who had people working for them would be sheltered from the sun hence tend to have a fairer complexion, while the poor servants/labourers who toiled in the sun to earn their wages tend to be darker.....

This obviously does not apply to the modern day scenario....however fair skin is still associated with wealth in many circles...... though this maybe more prominent in rural compared to urban

However based on some of the comments Ive seen on this forum, I am saddned to say that the above exists not just in the rural, but even urban and amongst the "highly" educated.....

Good analysis. Also people tend to follow the ways and standards of the ruler class (in this case the Anglo-Saxons who ruled us for some 200 years).
