What's new

PCB, CSA, SLC and BCB against proposals - Zaka Ashraf

Ofcourse ICC is a joke. Money talks.. ICC can not afford to cross the line of BCCI ( I am not commenting on the legality of this stand of BCCI ). You will see BCCI + ECB + CA getting majority in next meeting and PCB will be left out with probably South Africa.. Is that what Pakistan Cricket needs..? Get a good deal and save your cricket. This is a hardcore business with hundreds of millions of dollars involved. Emotions do not have a place in this.

Why would India withdraw..? BCCI will be getting 5 times more money. This is pure business with huge amount of money involved. Every cricket playing nation should be ready to accept this new reality or, raise their own money.

Well, a thin fine line between capitalism vs ethics and morality. India recently emerge as money generator , before it was Pakistan who generate fund for cricket. But anyway , if its brown and white running joint venture of domination, then they will naturally see opposing forces. Let's hope this standoff resolve with mutual respect.
Imagine IPL chairman took refuge in UK , according to him if he go back to India, bookies will kill him..................this is condition of this sport in Indian sports circle..

P.S here our target of discussing is cricket board not Indian people. Because lots of Indian sports loving segment are joining the critics of this act.

because of this feudal system in cricket it couldn't grow even though ireland, afghanistan and many other potential teams were ready to be launched as main competitors

im really tired of see four to six nations competing again and again

the future of cricket is, 3 nations will play, two of them being losers and australia winning every other world cup again and again

finally with bookies and gambled money and match fixing only india will play itself with its half team , who will do the bowling

Pakistan should accept working proposal of India, Australia and England: Rameez Raja

Rameez Raja insists the proposals made by the three cricketing nations should be studied carefully for it's long-term financial benefits to Pakistan cricket.

Former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja has advised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to accept the working proposal on restructuring of world cricket by India, Australia and England at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Dubai.

"Eventually it is a proposal that will be accepted. Pakistan must make best use of this situation and try to not only get long-term financial benefits but also more series against these three nations," Rameez said.

The PCB has not made its stance clear on the working paper and proposals that India, Australia and England are supporting but indicated it will be resisting the takeover bid of world cricket by the three nations. (Read: PCB to oppose any change)

But Rameez insisted that it was a proposal that Pakistan needed to look at carefully for its own benefits.

"I think we can benefit a lot from the situation and what we can do is get long-term financial benefits and also sign long-term bilateral contracts for series with these three nations," he said on Geo news channel. (Other nations react: South Africa angry | Sri Lanka mulls opposing plans | West Indies worried )

"We should not go with the popular opinion but think about our own benefits because every board will do that."

He said the move by India, Australia and England was accepted as they had been generating the bulk of revenue in world cricket.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar also felt that Pakistan had no option but to accept the working paper.

"As a cricket nation we are in no position to throw our weight around that is my honest opinion," he said.

"So we shouldn't have any doubt that eventually Pakistan will have to accept this proposal. Now all we have to see is what we can gain from it," he said.

Akhtar was critical of PCB's role and said due to its wrong policies the board today stood isolated in world cricket.

But he warned that eventually world cricket will suffer if India, Australia and England's plans were put in place.

"In the long run cricket will suffer because when there is no balance there will be problems," he said.

No mention of veto, no immunity from relegation, 5 member exec committee, after initial 2 years, any member of exec committee can be elected to be top dog, legally binding bi-lateral arrangements. And the actual amounts each gets still to be negotiated.

A massive climbdown by the Big 3.

This is not far short of being a decent outcome for all.
pakistanis are disillusioned again like they are disillusioned with 1965 war outcomes :omghaha::omghaha:

Well, hope he is not playing dumb, Pakistan share of any tournament will be less then these three. Even play in home ground. India will get 80 percent, ECB and TA will get 20 extra of every match...Pakistan and rest of the countries will pay extra to these countries from earning from any match.......................joke ...In return they will offer more matches to these nation...jokee

You have raised a valid point.

BCC raises most money for cricket so they would automatically qualify for World Cup Final without playing any match.

ECB and CA are next gainers so they would automatically be qualified for Semi finals. The 4th team to qualify for Semi Finals would be picked from the rest of the 7 Full Member nations

So its like

Semi Final:

England vs TBA
Australia vs same TBA (as they have to beat both teams to qualify for final)

Final:

India vs TBA (if they had defeated both teams)

In case of TBA losing from both England and Australia. There will be mini/extended semi Final between England and Australia to qualify for Final.

There is another optional criteria to qualify.

You offer more money to ICC and win the match without playing the semi/Final

For example

England & Australia vs TBA - Go to ICC and offer their rates, the higher bidder wins and qualifies for final.

They don't need that mate they just call for a bid and the highest will won the cricket worldcup.
