PCB bars players from Bangladesh T20 league

I don't really care about cricket and don't particularly like the online followers of the Bangladeshi cricket team as they are arrogant, cricket-obsessed and (especially in the case of Bangla cricket forum) tend to be quite anti-Bangladeshi (i.e. like to ridicule the country, mock it, belittle it etc...in every way besides cricket).

However I went on that forum and saw most people there seem to think that this actually good news for Bangladesh and in the long run makes Bangladeshi cricket stronger.

No one in Australia, our players are useless there (as they are spinners and cant bat against fast bowling).. But Sakib and Tamim were bought by Ipl, Slpl, england, Bpl ( 4 league isnt that enough?? Sakib didnt play in slpl for tiredness). Tamim played in Newzealand league this year, Sakib was busy with new wife btw.

by the way, Pakistan shouldnt send player to any other leagues as everyone refused to Go there. Grow some ego guys or is it only against short dark Bengalis??

I dont know why pakistanis fail to understand the situation.. BCB was playing for PCB against Govt. pressure and public opinion, not against PCB ! This is why all tamasha happened.... anyway, we have replaced pakistani players by players like Muhammad Nabi from Afghanistan , Simon Katich, Maharoof from Sri lanka, Pollard.... Pakistan will start their own league PSL .. time to move on.....

I am not cursing Pakistan, and No one likes Indian players here...

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and the Mumbai Police in a joint meeting yesterday urged the International Cricket Council representatives to drop Pakistan from the World Cup.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray is adamant of not allowing the team to play in Mumbai following the rising tension at the Line of Control.
Bangladesh which wasn’t a part of the eight teams will play in place of Pakistan, MiD DAY has learnt.

An MCA official, who attended the meeting held at the BCCI headquarters yesterday, revealed that the Pakistan team has been strongly advised not to come to India.

“The BCCI and the MCA said that they cannot risk hosting Pakistan in Mumbai in the current scenario. The Mumbai Police too advised that it is best to avoid Pakistan. The ICC will now write to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to opt out of the women’s World Cup,” the source told MiD DAY.

Pakistan were scheduled to play all their three league games at the Bandra Kurla Complex ground which is close to Thackeray’s residence in Bandra East.

Suru Nayak, BCCI’s cricket operations manager, said: “We have informed the ICC about the situation here. They will take a final call on it in a day or two, as it is their tournament.”

There was talk to shift Pakistan matches to Gujarat (Ahmedabad and Rajkot), but it didn’t materialise. “It is not a possibility. It is completely out of the way,” Nayak informed.

It is learnt that a senior BCCI functionary and Indian Premier League biggie tried to convince Thackeray to allow Pakistan women’s team to play in Mumbai. But the Shiv Sena boss remained undeterred. Several BCCI and MCA officials tried their best to convince Shiv Sena leaders, but they are hell-bent on not allowing Pakistan to play in India. The Hockey India League has already sent the Pakistani players home after Shiv Sena questioned the inclusion of the players in the Mumbai Magicians side at the MHA last Sunday.

simple thing is that BCB should not have promised things they couldn't keep. PCB may not be the best, but they were the ones right in this situation and and are justified in not sending their players

Have to agree with that. BCB should not have wasted the PCB's time.

Going to Pakistan when the security situation is really bad should never have even been considered.

Actually PCB was really naive to ask BD. Take into consideration the security situation which unfortunately to an outsider like me seems deteriorating. Even if the security situation was good, BAL's leftist extremist activist would have drumped up opposition by citing extremism in PAK. And now with the security situation as it is, it would be very hard for any pro-pak tour people to convince the masses. PAK stance is very justifiable & applaudable , they did the right thing by not sending players as BCB should not have made a promise which it can not keep. But facts remain that PCB was utterly naive to depend on BCB.

Anyway not all hope is lost. U guys concentrate on enhancing your domestic fast class cricket & definitely oneday cricket will return to PAK. Your players have eneough brand value , skills & reputation to play more better leagues like big bash etc.
