Passing out parade of cadets of 143rd Long Course held at PMA - ISPR

They still play auld lang syne?? Never noticed that before
"For old times sake". It is a very beautiful song especially if played by pipers and add to it the serenity of the occasion. I hope they don't change it. The march over the red stairs can only be accompanied by such a graceful song.

I'd prefer a tune like Cedden Dedin. Sounds more strong and filled more with nationalistic fervor. You could disagree.

Inspirational and most of you guys already know that it is also played in service academy in india.

But I think it'd be a bit too strong for the particular moment. The word Turk has been used many times in it plus the army itself wouldn't like to change it because of its conservatism. Otherwise Cedden Dedin does have a very strong message.
Still, Allah o Akbar played by our band is the best.

And not surprisingly, in Sandhurst aswell and at the same occasion i.e moving up the stairs.
Do we at the moment need an ROTC proogram?
We already have too many reserve officers,so no need for it. But I think that compulsory military training should be started at college/university level.

I wanted to ask a question that courses like cadets from Army Medical College and EME and MCS etc. They go to PMA for about 6 months for basic training. Are they also part of passing out parade?
no they go to pma for a year and are part of the passing out parade

Well yes ofcourse I don't mean just rip off their tune. I mean we could make our own. I really dig the Turk mehter tunes and the Russian opera kinda tune they have a sense of manliness or nationalism I feel.

Whereas, British/American tunes feel like I am watching a show at the Lucky Irani Circus.
Take a listen:

This makes me feel like a juggler or a clown is about to walk on stage. Well in case of Trump it was literally true 😆

We should take metric/o level pass give them best education and drill the dungar out of them and instill nationalism and military etiquette. Then we should put them to work to build the roads, bridges, water works, sewage works(Karachi Sindh will be happy from water and sewage works) and other tasks of such national importance. I.e candidate comes in at 16 for two years gets education and military training. Then 2 years of national service. 1 year active military duty. 1 year doing "national chores".

This will help eliminate the class differences and the differences between left and right wing.

Otherwise we have University graduates sitting on their behinds waiting/begging for jobs or looking for hand me downs.

Then later on work to replace metric system with GCSE or IGCSE or make our own. That has perfect balance between learning of the deen and dunya.

And when the band plays hail to chief, ooo they point the cannon at you lord!
In 23 march parade when the tank turret turns and faces the PM/President and service chiefs. It makes me hella nervous. When it lowers I feel so relieved 😅
