Partition of India on religious lines was a historic mistake: Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh

absolutely not , we dont want anything to do them.

Then I guess they will form their own country. May be call it will be called Outer Bangladesh.
On the contrary I don't speak of another partition but an ideological union. That ideology being a progressive one

You are delusional to think that people like @xeuss and @lightoftruth agree tol live under the same union. This is never going to happen.

So the only solution is to do another partition to make the people live separately.

.
You are mistaken if only Muslims of Kashmir are unhappy. There are many more Muslims in India @xeuss who are unhappy with the current setup.

The only solution to this is give Muslims of India their own home lands.

For the time being it's Kashmir for us.

For the time being it's Kashmir for us.

Pakistan not willing to accept non-Kashmiri Indian Muslims as part of Pakistan does not negate India Muslims desire to have a country of their own.

You are hell bent on picking only India from the equation. If you want to balance your statement you need both sides. Simple task. Data is available for both countries. Pick the same parameters you have outlined and dont just see numbers as they are presented -- they dont tell you the story. Compile the rate of change since Independence and you will see what I mean.

Isn't it just easy to change the goal post in each of your post? Both nations have huge problems but Pakistan seems to stumble on the basic ones which leads me to believe they would have pulled us down greatly! However, Indians would have been great for Pakistan.

I seem to go around in circles. I will stop. I made my statement, it's my opinion. You are free to dsagree.

Over 4 million recently dead from coronavirus and over 732 million indians who defecate in the open. No matter what Pakistan has gone through, it has NEVER stooped that low as india........... :azn::

Partition of British India (Subcontinent) was a natural and indispensable consequence of the intent and endeavors of the elite Hindus to install Hindu Raj (Ram Rajya, as per Gandhi), on this region, after the departure of the British. That was why that, till late, INC was demanding that Britishers shall transfer the power to INC and they will then deal with the Muslims, in their own way. It was only August-1946 Calcutta Killings, and its aftermath in Bihar Massacres and Noakhali Riots, that demonstrated to the Britishers the gravity of the situation, and the realization that a great civil war between Hindus and Muslims is in the offing, if Partition is not effected.

I don't think under any circumstances should India reabsorb Pakistan. Whatever happened, happened for the best. Let both countries chart their own path forward. Let's see who manages to provide their citizens with the best future.
India has two paths, one is to remain a mid level economy with lack of scope to move up to developed status or do more reforms and chart it's path to become a global economic powerhouse.
Pakistan also has two paths. To the north it has Afghanistan, it can become like Afghanistan or Iran by allowing religious fundamentalists more freedom and control over the country, can't rule out Islamic revolution too. Or it can become a modern Muslim nation like UAE, Kuwait, Malaysia etc and become a economic powerhouse, now this will require hard reforms and to move away from feudalism and to reign in religious fundamentalist organisations in the country.

The only mistake is to cling on to history and even worse, to not learn from it after doing so.

It is very disingenuous of a right wing party's member to say that partition was a mistake when it was partition which gave them so much elbow room in the first place, otherwise they would have played second fiddle to some centrist party or would have had to accommodate some kind of power sharing agreement (the latter impossible in my opinion, in South Asia).

This intellectual dishonesty is what irks me. Have the balls to say openly what you say in private, that partition got rid of a lot of muslims. They want to keep the fire alive in public by making such meaningless statements that they do not wish for in reality.

Time to accept reality and focus on better things. Jo hai wahi nahin sambhal raha. I can understand that it was the anniversary of an event and he had to say something. I would have preferred he announced reduction of red tape in defence procurement, better infrastructure at LAC, better pay and rations for frontline soldiers etc.

Partition was not wrong but it certainly is unfinished, We have plenty of people who supported/voted for pakistan but stayed her.

Not to mention P_OK.

That's why India needs to be partitioned again,a unified India is being revealed for the mistake it is

The hatred amongst the population is simply too much

So... how many states /confederations did US had before the civil war ?...It still emerged as a country (United States)... similarly UK , France, Germany consisted of various small kingdoms..Vice versa.....USSR split into various smaller countries
Thing is India is unique because no where else in the world, a country was divided on the basis of religion ...Do we have any other example?

india used force money and even fight wars to merge them . there is huge difference .

He is right. Partition of India on religious lines alone was a mistake. The non Muslim region should have been partitioned in ethnic and lingual lines too.
