First, Haqqani was the state ambassador, so he did what he was ordered to do, and if your government is not please with him, it could always replace him.

Second, even if he misuse his position, then there are procedures to handle this kind of situation, and he is innocent until proven otherwise.

But not in Pakistan: Haqqani is already guilty because Army and ISI decided they want to get rid of him.

I know enough, and there is absolutely no reason that someone who was an ambassador to need to flee and hide for his life in PM House. This is such an abnormal situation that in any normal country will bring to public uproar, but not in Pakistan which is country owned by an Army and intelligence services.

No sir...such killings only make things worse...Rule of law should be respected by all corners everywhere...If he is indeed a traitor then he should be booked and should be proved guilty in court...Let the law takes it own course....Just imagine what kind of feeling i as an outsider will get about Pakistan...A person who was a diplomat few months ago have to hide in PM's house to save his life...horrific, no??

I could say the same about the Israeli army but I disgress. Israeli freedom activists have been killed for defending Palestinian rights. Israelis have been bulldozed because they refused to let Palestinian homes get raised. But I disgress.

Do you have proof the army's trying to kill him? Don't throw out allegations if you can't prove them

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Israeli Army do not intentional kill activists who sympathise with Palestinians. Some of my best friends confront the Army and demonstrate against current policy, and still they live quite good with no fear for their lives.

As for Pakistan, my proof is that Haqqani hides in PM House because the security agencies do not care or do not want to protect him, so their approach is equivalent to encouraging his assassination. This is their job!

Well, it's Pakistan and that's how it is. Can't help it. We live in a society dominated by The Law of Jungle, it's every man for himself. Now as much as one may not like it, that's how it is. Sure, by law, Hussain Haqqani is innocent YET, but certain people believe he's guilty, and that's more than enough to have him killed since in a Banana Republic that certain people are who matter and not The Law. That doesn't just apply on Mr. Haqqani, but almost every Pakistani.

Well said, but why people settle with this horrible situation?

.
Well, there's plenty of reasons, and when I say ''plenty'', trust me, I mean it. Some I can think of are, Illiteracy, Lack of prosecution of Law, many terrorists are set free in courts, Massive Poverty, Extremism and what not?

Let me give ya a little example, Back when I was 16 or so, I was driving in morning and the roads were wet due to rain, so I crossed these 2 Motor-cycles with 2 men on each, so since the roads were wet, some of the water was splashed on their Pants as I overtook 'em. and I stopped on a red light a mile or so ahead, unaware of what I had done. So when I stopped, these 4 men approached me, opened the door of my car, and there I was, a teenager getting the beating of my life from 4 men, infront of tons of people, including a traffic police officer. I apologized, but since I wasn't crying or screaming, they thought I wasn't hurt, but When I began bleeding, they got scared and fled the scene. So that should give you an idea of how extreme our society is almost on everything.

Thank you for your story, it is an eye opener. What happened to you could of course occur in other countries too, but the fact that no one interfere, mainly the law officer, makes your story a good example for the situation in Pakistan. Why then the Army and ISI enjoy such a popularity if everyone suffer from the jungle laws in the country? People do not see who is responsible for the situation?

I met several Pakistanis when I visited Europe and North America, and they were very intelligent, educated and very able persons. I know they were part of a very small group in Pakistan, but why this group of people (academics, lawyers, trade unionists, businessmen, NGO's, etc.) do not protest against the current situation?

That is irrelevant. Haqqani's fear is no proof of the army encouraging assassination. That's the intellectual equivalent of saying that I'm hiding in my house scared of RAW, that means RAW is after me

You are wrong. It is the job of the security forces to defend Haqqani which is obviously under threats because of the "memo-gate" nonsense. if the security forces refuse or neglect this duty it is equivalent to encouraging his assassination. Haqqani should not be force to seek refuge in the PM House!

This is exactly what happened to Bhutto: under the directions of Musharraf the security forces refuse to protect her and she was assassinated.

Not surprisingly, the opponents of the defence establishment are getting wipe out in mysterious ways....

Could you provide documented proof proving that the Army refused to provide security to Haqqani?
