Apparently, according to social media posts, Pakistan’s first electric vehicle was launched today. There are still no coverage by the media, but it’s being promoted by the PTI and others.

It’s just a concept. Our automotive industry is too small to compete with India and Iran. Our politicians are only worried about their pockets. We need innovation and out of box thinking to allow new Automobile companies to thrive in Pakistan.

India has a lot of electric vehicles on road now -
Around 1.5 million 3 wheelers
Electric cars by tata nexon ev, most popular, selling around 300 to 400 per month. And these are expensive, around 35 lakh pkr on road.
Imported e cars from Hyundai - kona , but these are just assembled here so don't count.
And ofcourse multiple indigenous escooters and bikes. They have sales of around 2500 to 3000 per month.
The bugbear is ofcourse the batteries , which are assembled in India but the cells come from korea, Japan, china, etc.
Tata is setting up a vehicular battery plant in India next year , so lets see.

Our vehicles quality is pretty decent, Pakistanis should pressurise imran to import icu and e-vehicles from India.
In 2020 India exported 700,000 cars and 35,00,000 2-wheelers. Also 60000 trucks.

Why should Pakistanis be mehroomed from Indian vehicles ?
