The focus needs to be on fire and forget systems.
Wire and optical guidance is too risky once a missile has been launched and your position is exposed to both snipers and airborne weapon systems.
It's like letting every one know, hey I'm over here waiting to be hit while I try to guide my missile to its target...

Mi-24 has poor high altitude performance. Reduced wings and fixed landing gear are part of the weight reduction measures.

Yes , it is under development missile called Cida.

I think the news is accurate as at IDEAs 2k18 both Kornet and Omtas were on display and kornet has been accepted into service now! fingers crossed this system will be accepted too!

And in March 2019, DG ISPR stated Pakistan was in talks with Russia for anti-tank missiles, in addition to aircraft & air defence systems.

I guess the stockpile of baktar-shikan will be depleted on the borders! I am happy with both kornet and Omtas kornet is also used by Turkey and fingers crossed for OMTAS.

Baktar-Shikan is 120mm calibre ATGM, penetration with tandem warhead doesn't exceed 600mm RHA. However, PA continues to field these with Light Anti-Tank (LAT) forces and the infantry.

For Heavy Anti-Tank (HAT) forces, PA uses TOW variants which will now be supplemented with Kornet-E (both TOW & Kornet = 152mm calibre).

Yeah we have anti tank battalions. Does anyone know how many launches do LAT and HAT units have? Just wondering how many units can 52 Kornet-E be deployed in and what benefit does such a small number bring to a force

Usually 24 launchers per battalion, so 2× Kornet-E ATGM equipped battalions.

Finally an area of modernization the Army isn't taking slow

I think the idea is simple, get your hands on whatever you can. Pursue western/russian options, but also look at building Turkish and Ukrainian options.

Stick em on armored vehicles, choppers, and the infantry soldier with balls of titanium.

For defence of our tanks and armored vehicles, there seems to be some promising stuff coming out of China and Turkey, hopefully the army looks into it.

range finder assists in targeting by calculating range - i couldn't find anywhere mentioning either the system or rocket is "laser guided".
