Yep, context is key. Why would he praise the people who arrested him? He was reasonably upset.
And he wasn't wrong either. Pakistan is divided along ethnic, religious and tribal lines. And everyone has pride about it, so naturally there will be conflict. The same thing which prevented certain political leaders from allowing Sheikh Mujib to gain his democratically-elected seat, is the same reason why there is conflict in Pakistan today. That will never end. I am glad that Pashtuns enjoy far better rights now than they did back then, but Pashtuns are also a tribal people and for which there exists Jihadists who oppose Pakistan due to their tribal allegiances over nationalism. The myriad of sectarian troubles will continue to persist in Pakistan but I wish them well. Free Kashmir.
