@PanzerKiel @Signalian thoughts on this? I’m no expert and don’t know about sniping but the guy doesn’t look very accurate. Even terrorists show more accurate snipers in their videos. Or since the caption mentions they tried to infiltrate into KP, could it be the sniper was just trying to deter them and not kill, to prevent a border clash? Or it could be those poorly trained police/militia snipers? By what the sniper was doing it would make more sense if they put night vision device on lmg and used it instead. Or in such range, laser guided mortar would be very effective against clusters of enemies.

It's easy to fire over your area at rest, and you are fishing from an already prepared position... Its stable. However, during such active engagements, you have to fire quickly, sometimes on the run... Moreover, once you have a thermal sight over a sniper, it makes it heavier, it tires your arms rather quickly.

LMG has its own role. It requires other people to carry ammunition and spare barrels. It's not that accurate, it's supposed to suppress, or kill a large number of enemies in an area, not against single targets.
