A simple fine or small jail time for repeated offenceSo what do you suggest should be the penalty? Marshmallow overdose?
Lets go after street justice killers firstThese laws are made to protect the street justice
Where govt,s blind eye towards people promoting street vigilantism resulted in death of an innocent studentMashal case is a recent example.
The sc disagreesThis is a debate of ulema.
We are legalizing blasphemy we are making our laws more just and our society less violentPakistan is an Islamic Republic and Islam never allows blasphemy.
Lol is this not clear enough for you ? NOT DEATH. Is a fine not enough ? Jail time ? The purpose of the law is supposed to make sure such incident doesnt happen again. Im sure taking someones life for it is not the most appropriate way. And you ?

Fine would still be better than life in prison waiting for deathThen vote for a party in the upcoming elections who promises to change that. Till then follow the law as it is.
My personal views are not important.
I am surprised you bothered even with the 'simple' fine. Lol.
But that means the law will be misused and become a money making business to settle old scores. People take less chances when death penalty is involved but for money you can expect the 95 percent of courts just deciding on these cases.
Ironic isn't it the arguments
I expected something like tie them to a tree and tickle them with the feathers.

You are concerned with a law which has a punishment of a 'small fine' being misused ?
I'm pretty sure settling old scores by turning them into 'business matters ' will always be better than prosecuting someone according to a law where the punishment is death.
How hard is it for you to understand that a misuse is misuse.
It is much more susceptible just like bhains ka chori hona offence.
But young ones want a change just for the sake of it. Go on then change it but through democratic means and not by some executive order.
That death law carries a strict punishment for falsely blaming someone for blasphemy. But no no lets not discuss it.
It doesn't need to be discussed because no one has ever been given said 'strict punishment'. There have been 0 repercussions of framing someone for blasphemy.
Well if i said no punishment at all people will go you want to promote blasphemy so i am going for a route that takes the sting out of the law and goes for eventual repeal of the law ;-)So you want to create a new business out of blasphemy law for the mullahs.
I thought you were anti mullah.
Maybe got that wrong

evil west deports and arrest people for criticising HolocaustFair enough, shiuld obey the law of the land or else you can emigrate to the "evil" West where you will be more free to criticise the way you want without much repercussions.
So this dude should have been more careful. You should always know where to do what. Too late now. Lol
can you please give the number of minority people crush by this law??Its one of the law they are using to crush Minorities. Hindus and sikhs our country doors are open for you to live freely, securely and peacefully.
And at the same time promote a secular image abroadPMLn want mullah vote next election ..lolz
The secular world will fight such extremists then.I had an argument with some westerners on twitter. They were justifying blasphemy as a basic "human rights" requirement. I only presented a simple logic infront of them and most of them got my point.
'no one should be allowed to mock, abuse, joke anyone because it will create unrest and provoking of sentiments, this is not the oxygen or a basic requirement to live on planet earth, this is not the case of ordinary individuals, it is about the Prophet of Muslims صل اللہ علیہ والہ وسلم'.
Muslims will never allow blasphemy and this is as simple as 2+2=4. These laws are made to protect the street justice. Mashal case is a recent example. Pakistan is an Islamic Republic and Islam never allows blasphemy. This is a debate of ulema. We cannot discuss it here because we are not qualified to discuss these technical issues according to Quran, Hadees and Sunnat e Nabwi صل اللہ علیہ والہ وسلم
