Visa scam: Govt to sue 'The Sun' over false report


Federal Cabinet has decided to take legal action against the British Newspaper The Sun for publishing a false report about Pakistan s passport scandal.

This was decided in the cabinet meeting chiared by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Federal Interior Secretary, Chairman NADRA and DG Passport Department were also present in the meeting.

Earlier, The Sun tabloid claimed it had busted a racket involving a politician in Lahore that could have given access to the London Games as part of the Pakistani contingent in return for one million rupees.

The claims were dismissed by Pakistan’s Olympic chef de mission Aqil Shah.

People were arrested for interrogation. And they have released those people after investigation.
