Pakistani military structures built on Afghan territory (Few KM border glitch)

Wouldn't it have been better if Pakistan unilaterally sticked to the actual border? Would have shown them that we r not greedy for ur land and actually we would have shown some honor. But east india company and honor are two very different things. Now they will see it as encroachment and strike at any chance they get. And then bootlickers here cry. Does this east india company have the balls to take land from india? Lolz
Cope Youthar.

As I said before, the fence was poorly made. It gave us hundreds of acres of Afghanistan while giving Afghanistan hundreds of acres of Pakistan. This has already caused clashes when Afghan side tried to build infrastructure on Pakistani land but on Afghan side of border fence. It also could be on a tactical level Pakistan took some some areas to protect its border. We lost land in this border fence while gaining land in other areas.

Numbers may indicate post#, or unit# manning the post. 'Talaar' appears to be sector/location name....

@PanzerKiel
Exactly. Numbers are post / fort numbers for easy identification from air / Sats. Talaar could be unit name which is manning the post.

If google coordinates were that accurate (it is kept intentional for obvious reasons), they would have been a great help to all state and non state actors in the world for precision targeting.

I think this essentially acts as one in the most problematic areas - remember most of the terrain is mountainous so there's a handful of ideal routes or sections that need surveillance and monitoring.

This probably acts like a buffer zone and other areas don't have much human presence.

@PanzerKiel Is it possible if you could shed some light sir, whatever you're permitted to of course. Perhaps about the structures we are seeing, if they actually belong to us and when they were built...
Structures are ours of course.

Yeah I noticed.

It looks like we've, cough cough, encroached, cough cough about 2km worthView attachment 912879
Border lines marked on google earth are highly inaccurate. There are proper big border pillars placed on the borders which are taken as real authority...not even the military maps of both sides.

I believe Pakistan had demarcated the border clearly by marker stones. The fence does not sit right on top of the border everywhere. Still those knuckleheads from across stick to their bluster and ignorance.

Whoever come with this idea should be court martialed and hanged for treason, you build a building in middle of nowhere inside Afghanistan, and than you post foot soldiers there only to be surrounded by Taliban and slaughtered, if this is true than I have no doubt left that our Army/Establishment is run by bigger idiots than Indians.

I think a visit by you to any of these place will clear all doubts. They have been sited keeping in view all tactical and logistical considerations. You are seeing them straight down from the sky, so things won't be clear to you.

I don't see a parameter, no supportive bunkers or other structure within the Line of sight to give support to this isolated building, and than on top of that we have poor Air support history, we saw time and time again that our soldiers were kidnapped and beheaded because no air support ever came to them, so putting any human in a building like this is not stupid but cruel.

@Bleek Afghans claims a lot of Pakistani territory and base their maps on the old maps while Pakistan uses the maps from the British since 1947. Afghans would always blame Pakistan for encroaching because of issue with Durand line.

What is the status of fort construction on Afghan and Iran border?

Have all 830 odd forts on Pak-Afghan border constructed. And how many built on Iran border?

That's my point exactly. If you can't see from Google earth, doesn't mean it isn't there. Afterall, what's the point of military camouflage then. I can point out all these things in these pictures, but can't do because it will help someone else in sneaking in.

You cant see all the themal and infra red imagers inside and around it. 50 cal AMRs, LSRs, apart from regular weapons and ammo.

There is a concept of mutual support by fire in modern armies. You should be able to find multiple 81 mm, 120 mm mortars and 122 mm D30s guns towards the eastern side, deep inside, to provide all around fire support to each post.

Moreover, keep in mind that soldiers do get sometimes killed due to own mistakes or violation of procedures.

If manning an isolated post is cruel, as you say... Then it is like that. Military and fighting active combat, is always cruel and not fair.

I know but it actually seems the Google Earth demarcation is just inaccurate slightly, even the official border posts for crossing is shown deep into Afghan territory rather than on the border

I don't think we encroach much at all

Not sure about total number but many forts even on the Iran border
