TV actor Shafi Mohammad Shah passed away 14 years ago.

Born in 1949 in Kandiaro, Sindh, Shafi Muhammad Shah studied law in addition to his MA in International Relations.

He started his artistic journey in the 60’s with Hyderabad Radio.

Shehzad Khalil, a well-known PTV producer and director of his time, introduced Shafi Muhammad Shah on the small screen through a play called “Flying Sky” but “Flying Sky” was his first hit serial after which He did not look back and achieved the status of a TV superstar through his lively acting.

During his 30-year artistic journey, Shafi Muhammad Shah showed the essence of his acting in more than 100 Urdu and Sindhi dramas.

His popular dramas include ‘Aanch’, ‘Chand Eclipse’, ‘Zeenat’, ‘Daare’, ‘Diwaareen’, ‘Jangal’, ‘Marvi’, ‘Tapash’ and ‘Laila Majnoon’.

In recognition of his technical services, he was awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan. He contracted a liver disease in 2006 which took his life and he passed away in 2007.

Muhammad Qavi Khan better known by his screen name Qavi Khan, is a Pakistani film and television actor. He has also worked in Radio Pakistan and on stage. Though now largely working in television, he has acted in over 200 films.

Qavi Khan was born and raised in Peshawar, Pakistan. Khan started working, at a young age, at Radio Pakistan, Peshawar as a child actor. His family later moved to Lahore. In 1964, he went on to work for Pakistan Television Corporation when TV broadcasting first started in Lahore, Pakistan, being one of the first actors of PTV. He started his film career in 1965.

Qavi is well known for his PTV's (1984-1985 television season) police drama serial Andhera Ujala which launched him to stardom alongside his fellow actors such as Irfan Khoosat and the late Jamil Fakhri. Qavi Khan got married in 1968. An event was arranged at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) auditorium, Islamaabad, in March 2011, to pay tribute to Qavi Khan's achievement
He received Pride of Performance Award in 1980

Aasia Begum, better known as Aasia, was a Pakistani film actress who was active in the 1970s and 1980s in the film industry. She was given major roles by many directors. She was born in 1952 as Firdous in Punjab, India. She emigrated from India to Pakistan. She resided in Canada after retiring from her career, where she died on 9 March 2013, aged 60.

She had made her debut in the Pakistani film industry in 1970. She was introduced to Lollywood by film director Riaz Shahid in his movie, Gharnata (1970). She acted in more than 179 Punjabi movies. She starred in several Urdu and Punjabi films. Aasia shot to fame after playing the iconic role of 'Makhoo' in the Punjabi super-hit film Maula Jatt (1979). This role made her truly a star because it redefined the concept of 'Jatti' and 'Chaudhrani' in Pakistani Punjabi language films. Film actress Anjuman said that she modeled herself after her role in that film. Aasia had adopted her Punjabi language accent for film Maula Jatt (1979) based on people's accent from Sargodha and Jhang areas of Punjab.

he had won 2 Nigar Awards- first for Best Actress in film Qanoon in 1977 and for Best Supporting Actress in film Aag in 1979. She had married a Karachi-based businessman, and they had four children together.

Aasia had long been living in Canada. Aasia ended her film career in the mid 1990s and had been residing in Canada with her husband and four children. She never tried to rejoin the film industry once she quit it. Although she had travelled back to Karachi a couple years before she died for treatment of her illness at Agha Khan Hospital. She died on 9 March 2013 in Canada aged 60, from undisclosed causes. She was survived by her husband and four children.

Akmal Khan was born at Lahore, Pakistan. He was a famous Pakistani film actor & singer. He was bonn in 11th November 1929 at Lahore. Akmal was the younger brother of renowned character actor Ajmal, His actual name was Asif Khan,He belongs to a poor family therefore he only studied upto primary class. In his childhood he was expert in Patang and Kabootar bazi. Akmal regularly worked in Punjabi language films.

He was also the second most eminent star of Punjabi films after Sudhir. Akmal began his film career as a makeup artist and emerged as an extra character in Films Mehbooba (1953)then Qatil and Dulla Bhatti. In 1956 as an extra role. FinalyDirector Muzaffar Tahir gave him a break as a hero in his film Jabroo with Yasmeen was his heroien. This film was super hit and Akmal establish himself as hero. Then his other victorious film was Choorian in 1963. His film Malangi (1965) was a paramount of his film career.

He also appeared as villain in film Baghawat (1960) which was very popular. Akmal Khan appeared in over sixty films and his last film was Bahadur Kisan before his death.He appeared with 16 top heroiens in his career.He worked in 20 films with firdaus, 32 films with Mazhar Shah, and 28 films with Rangeela. 16 films with Shereen, 14 with Naghma, and 23 films with Munawwar Zareef.

He married 2 times, the first one belong to his relative from which he has 6 daughter and one son Shahbaz Akmal who also worked in some films but not succeeded. Then he married to Firdaus, but some people deny that. He died in June 11, 1967 when he was only 38 years old.

The death anniversary of Pakistan’s famous film singer Salim Raza is being observed today, November 25.

Noel Dias better known as Saleem Raza was a Pakistani playback singer. He started his singing career from Lahore, Pakistan and quickly gained popularity. Raza was a classically trained singer and was more famous for singing sad songs.

He first sang for Lahore Radio Station. Additionally, Raza learned music from the music composers of the day including Master Sadiq Ali, and Ustaad Aashiq Husain.

He was introduced to the Pakistani film industry by veteran film music director Ghulam Ahmed Chishti.

Raza’s first lucky break came in director Syed Ata Ullah Hashmi’s 1955 film Naukar. He lent his voice to the ‘sad’ musical composition, Taqdeer kay malik deikh zara kya zulm hai (Duet, Saleem Raza – Kausar Perveen).

He also sang as a playback singer in film Anwar Kamal Pasha‘s Qatil in 1955. Although his big breakthrough came with the song Yaaro mujhe muaaf rakho, main nashey mein hoon, in Saifuddin Saif‘s film Saat Lakh (1957).
He went on to sing many other songs in films like Aas Paas (1957), Do Rastey, Hamsafar (1960), Seema (1963 film) and many more. His last film was Payal Ki Jhankar (1966).
Raza suffered from kidney failure, which took his life on 25 November 1983. He was fifty-one years of age.
