One is the number and location of strategic assets. And there procurement possibly from China/korea.
Second is A Q Khan angle, US, UK wants to know everything about his prior transactions of which he is privy.
One verbal threat from him would stop this train.
Is Gen Musharraf being arrogant, or will the Army really help him remain above the law?

Musharraf hints at tensions between state pillars

KARACHI: Hours after evading arrest, Former President Pervez Musharraf indirectly warned that the Islamabad High Court’s decision to reject his bail extension may cause “unnecessary tension amongst the various pillars of state and possibly destabilise the country.”
“We expect this unwarranted judicial activism, seemingly motivated by personal vendettas since his (Musharraf’s) return to Pakistan to participate in the upcoming elections, will cease and the Supreme Court, without prejudice, will immediately grant necessary relief following precedence and the Rule of Law; the absence of which will cause mockery of the nation,” said the statement also posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday.
The former military ruler was whisked away from the courtroom by his personal earlier on Thursday, after the IHC rejected his application for extension of bail and ordered his arrest.
The statement said the former president is filing an appeal in the Supreme Court against, what he termed, the “ill-conceived decision of Islamabad High Court.”
Maybe Army won't act now, since the indication is that he will be only house arrested. But real jail time seems like something unimaginable for someone who has served as COAS, for pride first, of course, but lastly and more importantly due to risk of kidnapping/torture and leak of national secrets.
You know the standards of Pakistani jails.
One bullet to his head should put that threat to everlasting rest.
Pretty callous to try and jail a former Chief of Army Staff... Should have ordered house arrest only... If national secrets are outed or he is kidnapped by national enemies who will be responsible?

I agree with you that real jail is out of question for an ex-COAS. But perhaps the indignity of being declared to be a prisoner of law, no matter at his home declared a subjail, is the more important deterrent for those who will follow his rank.
This court case and its final decision will be important for the present and the future of Pakistan.
Agar on duty PM k arrest warrant nikal sakty hain tu Former COAS k kiyon nahi ? ?
Agar NS / ZAB (an elected PM) Jail ja sakta hai tu Gen (R) Pervez Mush kiyo nahi ? ?
I knew this Pakistani guy in NYC who'd always say to such things, "Hun ay pi tay tenu katni pay gi".
I think anything more than the same punishment Gilani got, would bring institutions to clash. Make him saza yafta and call it a day.
This would be a permanent NRO. Army general go scot-free thanks to their position others serve time. If PA as an institution indulges in such behavior it will be regrettable and will only result in offending a common Pakistani.
