Pakistani Footballer Hajra Khan makes a case for gender-neutral fashion and looks good doing it

People like you can't be reasoned with, I've had my experiences. The only answer I can give to you is

Bloody bigots. Don't see child trafficking and bonded labour in the villages but have issues with women deciding their own clothing choices.

Jab mirasi shaadi pey aatey hain zor o shor kay saath aatey hain. Aur sab tamasha dhekh tey hain. Khoob chilao, apney izzat lutao. Humein kya? Akhir mein aap sab ko samaaji nuksaan hoga.

I don't see anything wrong with her dress. Dunno what's all this fuss about.

I mean, she is wearing shalwar kameez which women also wear just like men, though in different styles and usually different fabric.

Her kameez has collars. Usually men have them. But many women kameez also have soft collars for quite a while.

Her kameez has buttons which sometimes women's kameez also have.

Her shalwar is just normal.

Women' kameez usually don't have shirt like cuffs, hers does. So what?

Only thing more manly about her attire is Peshawari sandals. When women can wear all different types of sandals then why not this particular one? Especially when it comes from our country and culture.

The only thing missing here for a 'woman' is Dupatta. That's it.

She overreacted on her dress and now people are overreacting. All for nothing. A non issue.

Think about it.

Fuwwad, Firdous and Faryal all cannot wear the same dress to the party

Stop acting like the representative of Pakistan. Tumharay apne dimagh ka khannas hai. What is disgusting about her? Nangi ghoom rahi hai kya? You're so weak and pathetic you need to bully a girl for wearing a men's shalwar kameez.

We both know who is in the majority here. Go look at the comments. Your tawaif tola had a couple hundred freaks in Lahore for Aurat March and the same is evident here. Call me all the names you want. Do you even think about what you’re saying? If a man wore a woman’s blouse what else other than derision and disgust should they be met with? Same goes for the other way.

Don't show your upbringing. A "mirasi" dholwala earning rozi roti by playing music at shadis is 100 times the man a hateful extremist like you can ever be.

If insulting me makes you happy go for it. Doesn’t change the reality of your lonely position. And for the record never said anything about the work of a mirasi. Just said our culture enjoys their dance but would never join them. Your March is the same. People enjoy the spectacle like one enjoys watching a crazy speaker in Times Square. But that’s the extent of your support and “movement”. You can rage against me all you want. I’m right and you know it. That’s likely why ur so angry.

"The concept of gender-neutral clothing is important because it allows everyone to feel comfortable in their own bodies," said the footballer.

Did someone say queen?

As a woman in Pakistan, it doesn't matter how successful, kind, ambitious or talented you are. Somehow, the conversation is always directed to what you are wearing, if not, how you are wearing it.

When footballer Hajra Khan took to social media to share her Eid outfit, a fierce navy-blue shalwar kameez, the moral police couldn't handle it.

It didn't matter that Khan had a Guinness World Record hat-trick, what mattered was why she wore what she was comfortable in, instead of adhering to conventional standards.

This time around, the clothes weren't "too revealing," they were supposedly too masculine.

Well, joke's on them; androgynous cuts are having their moment so not only does Khan look bomb, she's also on-trend!

For those who might be confused about what androgynous style might be, it's fashion that aims to avoid gender stereotypes. The best thing about it? Clean lines, simple cuts and bye bye skin-tight clothing.

Khan wasn't letting anyone dim her sunshine or indulge in cyber-bullying, and made sure to let the world know she was going to wear whatever she wanted to wear.

"CLOTHES HAVE NO GENDER," captain of the Pakistan's women's national team reinstated for those, who clearly did not understand this phenomenon. "Any clothing we're going to choose to wear will be inevitable gendered."

"We should not have to live in a world where people have to justify how they feel. Having the concept of gender-neutral clothing is important because it allows everyone to feel comfortable in their own bodies."

"Everyone deserves to feel free and beautiful without judgment. And like James Badwin said, took many years of vomiting up all the filth I had been taught about myself and halfway believed, before I could walk around this Earth like I had the right to be here."

"I have the right, you have the right, we ALL have the right," she continued.

"Mujhko kisi ke baap ki ijazat nahi chahiye koi bhi kapray pehene ke liay, "Khan declared. (I don't need anyone's permission to wear whatever I want)

"Athletic wear has always been gender-neutral. And I will keep choosing to wear clothes that make me feel comfortable in my own skin. We need to normalise gender neutral fashion."

In the end, the national star shared her two cents about what she felt about the trolling.

"When a fool utters all kinds of insults against you on social media without even knowing you, or without any worthwhile reason or provocation, usually they are merely sad and pathetic attention seeking trolls we should all feel sorry for. They don't deserve our anger, they deserve our pity."

You go, boss lady!
Cloths are over rated. How about we just get ride of this waste of fabric.
