Firstly, Chabahar port is not Indian. Its Iranian.

Secondly, USA openly using Iranian facilities is doubtful.
Is your point that USA will use Indian containers and transports to supply its forces through Chabahar?
USA considers Iran its foe and vice versa. USA knows that Iran will monitor its supplies going from inside Iran to and fro Afghanistan. Iran may also charge double, triple fee if it gets to know that USA supplies are being transported through Chabahar port. If not fee, then Iran may get USA on negotiation table and ask for other favours of its interest.

Thirdly, The route maybe shorter but its one of the unsafest in the world.

With the war torn and unstabilised Afghanistan, the amount of fee charged due to security reasons could make the goods and transit expensive.

The Chabbar Port gurantees India Gas supplies AND huge access to central ASIA not JUST AFGHNISTAN.

Thats actually good for India if it works out. but the gas supplies is a separate topic on its own. Its also to be seen how many countries feel confident sending goods through Afghanistan from Central Asia and Europe.

Also how many European countries will be comfortable knowing that their goods are travelling through Iran? Considering trading with Iran is minimal due to sanctions and embargos.
