Ignore Pasthunistan map which i posted ,It just gives rough idea to the territories Pakistan will likely get.
Pushtoonistan?
You can create any number of "Tans" for Pushtoons but unless their mentality isn't changed, nothing will change and all "Tans" will fail.

Here is what Pakistan will do. Pakistan will unite Pakistanis, seal the border with Afghanistan, and focus on our own people's well-being.

That's great ,but unfortunately we're trying our best to seal the borders and it seems to be failing since the last decade.
One episode after another of terrorist attacks and every operation evolves into another one.
They were thinking that za'azb was the last one but now its ra'ad ul fasad.
The People on other side of the fence are if not similar equally talented to the Pakistani Pasthuns,With little education these people can reach mars.
Many of Afghans are majority herdsmen in the country-side ,You can tell them to go join up Pakistan and they be happy to do it since most of them are sick with the whole taliban and Government fiasco.

Just like Pakistan has trillions of mineral resources hidden somewhere without any mean to exploit them, its all hogwash.
I agree with you but trillions of natural resources do exist in Afghanistan.
for Pakistan forget the resources and focus on other issues apart from that like.
  • Constant cross border terrorism,Hugely increasing influence and financing of Anti-Pakistan groups that target Pakistani cities ,starting from APS you name it.
Pakistan's economy is self-sustaining and can do much better without terrorism and this problem will continue to emanate from Afghanistan in the coming decades until we take the giants step and stop indian and foreign involvement in Afghanistan which is creating the so called "War on terror" which is nothign but a proxy war.

Afghans dont like Pakistan and consider it a Punjabi state
Most afghans also consider the American's and others as infidels responsible for all the mess in their country.
Its just you guys interact with the special breed of afghans on the internet who are nothing but those that carry the same animosity towards Pakistan like the Governments of the past that attacked our territories wanting to annex KP.
The average Pushtun afghan is 60-70 percent favorable of Pakistan because according to them Pakistan has always extended their help but its just the other 10% of the newer generation that blames Pakistan just because of their own frustration with the civil war with Taliban.

Pakistan can develop long term policies which can increase our perception in the Afghan minds.
WE must all understand that we don't live in Europe ,that gift we don't have .
So we must look into our own region and its problems.
The afghan pasthuns can be easily integrated into Pakistan and their newer generation will remember the "Civil war" just a thing in the history books and grow up to be Patriotic Pakistanis.
The current Pushtoons in our country are the same ones on the other side, In-fact Pushtoons are also one of the poorest ethnic groups in the country ,Go to the provincial capital in Peshawar and take a look at the slums.
Yet we don't have a ethnic problem in Pakistan apart from a episode or two.

Bro I humbly disagree with your assertion that majority of Afghanistan's Pashtuns like Pakistan. Its not just the internet, I have had interacted with Afghans in Canada. Whether Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek or Pashtoon, if they are from Pakistan, they have a skewed ethnocentric hate narrative for Pakistan. Although most of them travelled to canada using Pakistani passports and lived here, still they held such opinion about Pakistan.

Sorry we already have enough mess in Pakistan after we hosted them in Pakistan by considering them our brothers. You are giving them another opportunity to work on their political agenda of creating pahstunistan from within Pakistan. They will have generation after generation born in Pakistan but will call themselves afghani rather than Pakistani even after holding Pakistani passport and ID card. We already witnessed how well they integrated in our societies and how much they love us even after living, studying, working and getting medical treatment in Pakistan. If they cannot live peacefully with hazara, uzbek, tajik etc in afghanistan then it will be naive to think that they will have no issue with others non pahstuns ethnic groups of Pakistan.

.
Pakistan can try,as Indians we will be more than happy to see that,we know the end result :-),seriously

People on this thread are stating that Afghanistan is a multi-ethnic country and Hazaras and Pukhtoons cannot live together and also that Afghans hate Pakistan and Punjabis in general.

Let me remind you Pakistan is also a multi-ethnic country, we also have Hazara and Pukhtoons that live here peacefully. Yes its true that some Afghans hate Pakistanis or Punjabis in general but you can't paint them all with the same brush. I have personal experience where i have meet many Afghans that do hate Pakistan but i have meet alot of them that love Pakistan or atleast are indifferent to it.

I have also tried to investigate why is there animosity by Afghans towards Pakistan and its all comes down to propaganda. Afghans have been systematically brain-washed into thinking that all their woes are due to Pakistan. The propaganda includes how Pakistan stole their lands, to how we brought the Taliban so that Pakistan can occupy Afghanistan. I have heard so many stories that you can clearly see that its a BS story but they actually believe its true. some of these stories are

1. The soviets came to save the Afghans from an imminent Pakistani invasion.
2. Pakistanis only helped the refugees so that Pakistan can pocket the billions in aid that came for them.
3. ISI had its agents roaming in the country and when they saw a building that was better than any Pakistani building they would have it blow-up.
4. Pukhtoons in Pakistan are mistreated and they want to join with Afghanistan.

and many many more.

There are many factions in play here that want to keep the animosity between Pakistan and Afghanistan on the heat. Some of them are the Afghan Warlords/politicians that blame Pakistan for all their issues. There are also foreign hands involved that pays people to propagate this hatred, so as to create problems for Pakistan.

So what is the solution and how do we go about reversing this hatred. Well first we need to counter the hate but countering hate with hate is not going to work. We need to educate them, we need to show that the reason that Afghanistan is going through such times is not because of Pakistan but the warlords/politicians whos only source of power is ethnic divisions and propaganda. We also need to show them that we want to help them by doing projects that only benefits the people but also is visual, like constructing roads, dams and buildings and then advertising them over and over again so that it gets imprinted on their memory.

The end goal is the merger of Afghanistan into Pakistan but for that we also need to have a progressive Pakistan, a society without discrimination, where the good is rewarded and bad is eliminated. If we can achieve that we will not need to worry about occupying or annexing Afghanistan. They will come to us.

Decade? Pakistan just got serious about border management after APS attack, 2015. More like it will take decade to fence and properly manage border from now on. Army even gave shot on sight order for anyone crossing illegally from Afghani side after latest attacks.

Its like asking USA to integrate Mexico to end immigration problem. Pakistan can stop/reduce terrorism to great extent with proper border management. No one knows about future but I don't see it at the moment. First Afghan occupation needs to end.

Even though I voted yes as it my dream to see Pakistani frontier expand all around. But for this to happen, you need to have a visionary leader at the helm. Also, the current political structure with flawed electoral system, where if you aspire to become the leader of Pakistan, all you have to do is to win Punjab in general election, with the current political elite entrenched, the KPK , or shall I say greater KPK would become at par with Punjab, with more seats and representation in parliament. What I am trying to get at, Punjab would no longer be the king maker of Pakistan afterwards. Would the political elite allow that to happen due to their petty personal interests? I doubt it.

First and foremost, Pakistan needs to have a new system of governance with fresh faces and ideas where such mergers can be facilitated without causing any issues in main land.

Afghanistan is landlocked and a failed concept. This is inevitable.

But timing is crucial. Right now Afghans are not evolved enough. Give it another 100 years for eureka moment in Afghan society and Pakistani borders will expand naturally and effortlessly. You will absorb their territory. Not a question of if, but when.

At the moment they are a murderous bunch of bachi bazi monkey like people. Put that barb wire fence up high and wait it out.

If you have punjab phobia then divide Pakistan in 20 provinces on basis of population instead of integrating mulak dushman hazrat which will destroy fabric of Pakistan.

I believe Pakistan should purchase and integrate wakhan corridor into KPK. Other than that there is no need to have a huge chunk of land that have people who had been constantly brainwashed against Pakistan and result is their hatred against Pakistan.

Even FATA is pretty much ahead of Afghanistan, forget about KPK which have tons of proper cities such as Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Naushera, Swat, etc.
