Pakistan weaker than India compare to 1999 position: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (Online): Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan was in the weaker position against India as compare to situation in 1999.

In an interview with private TV channel on Wednesday, he said that Pakistan had held talks with India on the basis of equality in 1999 but unfortunately this was not the case today.

Aziz said that he was not optimistic about Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s proposed meeting with his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh.

The adviser said that the Indian government was under opposition’s pressure and meaningful dialogue process with New Delhi would begin in 2014 after elections in India.

To a question, he said that Kargil war undermined Kashmir issue.

Talking about back-channel diplomacy with India, he clarified that back-door diplomacy would not work so effectively as it can not normalize the relations.

Now sit back and enjoy the massive trolling that's going to hit this thread at the speed of light!! :blah:

*goes to collect some popcorn and a beer.* (This one promises to be a blockbuster!)

Pakistan is fighting a ten-year long war, Pakistan Military is engaged on multiple fronts, there is political instability in the country..and so on..

So I don't know why his statement is surprising?

Militarily, indians can not even think of engaging Pakistan Military in any military confrontation right now...

He is right on two counts: in terms of international diplomatic clout, and in terms of Indian arrogance vis-a-vis Pakistan.

In terms of military capability, I will leave it to the military experts.

Depends what he's talking about. In terms of economy etc., then maybe.

However, in terms of war, Pakistan has a larger nuclear arsenal than India has, and faster growing too.

That matters more, considering that the India-Pakistan border is the most dangerous nuclear flash point on the planet.

india is fighting terrorism in northeast, in loc and kashmir and also in maoist hit areas. india is fighting three front war, indo pak border, indo china border and pakistan sponsored terrorism in india, so india is facing more problem than pakistan facing. But we are more successful in preventing and neutralising attacks by terrorists and our neighbours.

Doctors recommend 8+ hour sleep and fresh air for hallucinations

Frankly, any comparison is superfluous. We don't give a damn about weaker/stronger etc.

It is not about arrogance or looking down on anyone at all. It is just delusional people that need to constantly harp on the non-existent issue.

If that is true, it is only because we have what we consider enough for our needs.

There are reports that say that India has enough fissile material for 2000 nukes. Doesn't mean we need to build all of them.

Atleast some people are there in Pakistan who dont live in delusion....:D
