Pakistan wants to get out of Cold War era dynamics: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday told the Chief of General Staff Russian Armed Forces General Valery Vasilevich Gerasimov that Pakistan wants to get out of the zero-sum dynamics of the Cold War era, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met General Gerasimov at the Defence Ministry premises in Moscow, on the second day of the former’s visit to Russia. General Bajwa, in the meeting, said Pakistan welcomes any initiative that can bring peace and stability in Afghanistan, adding that the entire region will benefit from such efforts.

The army chief further said that the zero-sum dynamics of the Cold War era are still prevalent in South Asia. "We have no hostile designs towards any country and will keep on working towards a cooperative regional framework based on sovereign equality and mutual progress through connectivity," said General Bajwa.

Well they helped India out of the way in 71..... so it was payback......

Yeah that's one way of saying it, but then its only mutual benefits. But not on very friendly terms.

I guess in long term future Russia and India are going on a different trajectory ... The only interest Russia had in India was its huge defence market but now with India going in US camp and reducing reliance on russian equipment this relationship is going whereas in new era, China is the leading factor wheras both RUssia and Pakistan are closest to China ...

The way Indians are working for US in the region one can predict that India will move to US block whereas Russia and Pakistan will move to China block ...

Is it only me, who have realized that in order to remain a super power, you must have Pakistan on your side. If any superpower is working against Pakistan heads towards its destruction naturally.
Also I feel like Pakistan as a country, grew up in the house of pharaoh, like Mosa A.S was brought up in the house of pharaoh, only to rebel against him.
