I did not compare the societal achievements. Is that how you satisfy the moral guilt for being responsible of massacring hundred of thousands of "Commies", "Iraqis", "Terrorists", not to mention the "collateral damage".

Just Let the Status Quo hold, the leadership on both sides has drawn a line to not negotiating any sort of peace. As all of them have attempted to hold power through attempts of portraying themselves as Nationalists, when they're just thieves.

But neither side is free of atrocities.

We tried to mend the relations Modi even stopped in lahore to mend the fences , we get PAthankot in return , Vajpayee went to Lahore and in return we got Kargil , Manmohan wanted to talk we got Mumbai .

We wanted peace , now they are funneling money to keep those agitations alive. UN declared terrorist are their protesters when India's Home minister visited Islamabad . They humilated our home minister and no w expected garlands in return . There is nothing wrong in highlighting the inhuman treatment of Baluchis by Pak army.

Hard to mend fences when you go to another State, Afghanistan, and publicly call for better relations based on mutual anger at a third, Pakistan, and expect a warm welcome.

This is the problem people have. Just because Nawaz has a golden crown on his head as the PM of Pakistan doesn't mean anyone gives a shit. The representatives of countries only care about their constituents during elections.

Leaders don't hold power over a Country. It's the career officials occupying the 2nd, 3rd tiers of administration. Leaders set course, the administrators decide what to do with those orders.

You want peace? Take on the administrators.

We have very strong relations with both Israel and Iran , we have relations with USA and Russia . Relation with Afghanistan has nothing to do with Pakistan . Who was supporting that Saddam apart from Arabs. Well it was MIC in the West milking him with all sorts of weapons sale. Aircraft, Chemical weapons and the Nuclear plant that IAF bombed (provided to him by the French). If west had been on such a high moral pedestal, then why they had taken part. But the reality is that chaos / wars are best for money making. I bet capitalists made trunk load of money through Agent Orange (Vietnam), Daisy cutters (Afghanistan), DU rounds (Iraq).

Muslims have been living kind of OK for the past 1300 years, managing their internal theological conflicts much better than Christians did in Europe. It was the colonial intervention and the subsequent division of the ME region that later became the basis for all the fiasco currently visible.

And for the military operation in the NW Pakistan, I agree its was a tragedy that army had to operate with in its own borders.

Given that you have such a deep interest in the our region, i would not be surprised if you were a 1st/2nd gen Indian, with rabid hatred of Pakistan and of course Muslims.
