Pakistan-Turkey Defence Deals l President Erdogan visit to Pakistan

. . .
I saw TAI manager inside the delegation who visited Pakistan. It is known that Turkey wants a few Muslim states inside the aerospace program and I believe Turkish and Pakistani officials must have drawn the final shape of a likely collaboration for TAI’s aerospace programs.

I personally wish to see Pak and Turk getting involved into the Fighter weaponry section such as AAMs, ALCM like SOM/RAAD, A2G munitions and EW pods. Apart from that, MAWS, Radars, and avionics.

But SOM-J is a smaller variant designed specifically for internal bays of TFX/5th gen fighters in mind. And that is a long time !!!

SOM-C1/2 variants will be revealed in this year. These variants are modified to engage moving naval targets. C2 variant will especially have tandem explosive warhead to ensure the total destruction of enemy warships. There are vast of areas two brother state can cooperate but If Turkey come to Pakistan with such a big delegation, It is possible we may request somehing as well.

Pakistan needs modern fire-forget/update OMtAS ATGM to update/support Baktar-Sikan and It is known tht Turkey has been offering Turkish AT/AP missiles to Pakistan for a while. Pakistani delegation have even attended into launching trials of some ATGM programs so we may hear some news in this field as well. In addition, Roketsan will perform launching trials of Yatağan miniature missile system (2020) and; KaraOk ATGM (Javelin equivalent) and Cida ATGM ( Carl Gustaf equivalent) in these years. We may see the name of Pakistan inside some of these programs.

What do you personally think we have to offer to Turks? The best from us is Block 3 and Bravo Thunders

I also wish to see turkey assisting PAC kamra to develop a local helicopter production plant even if it is using ToT for starters

I hope we join TFX too.

Brother,
Is the aerospace program more than just TFX ? I mean is it a diverse program having many different projects under the umbrella ? If yes then could you let us know

Turkish engine has passed into serial production. Integration activities are proceeding. We may see the launching of first SOM missile with Turkish engine in following months.

Qatar, Malaysia, Azerbaijan and Pakistan

  • TF-X MMU stealth fighter
  • HürJet Advanced trainer and light fighter
  • Aksungur MALE drone
  • Göksungur supersonic drone
  • Wingmen drone
  • 6t T-625 utility helicopter
  • 6t T-629 assault helicopter
  • 10t utility helicopter
  • 10t Atak-2 assault helicopter
  • Satellite programs (IMECE-0,7m, YÇU: 0,5-0,3m, Tursat-6A comsat, Göktürk-3 SAR sat, SmallGeo comsat)
TAI manager stated that Muslim/Muslim majority countries stated above should combine power to develop/produce all these programs together. When the envisaged scope under a likely partnership is achieved, The partners will jointly export them all around the World. This strategy will improve the sustainability of high-cost programs while tech infrastructure of partners will be risen. At the end, Partners will use own strategic systems in the inventory of own armed forces without any restriction and this will allow us to strenghten the prestige/power of Muslim block in World.

There are different Turkish companies involved.

STM:
  • Agosta 90B Mid-Life Upgrade
  • MILGEM
  • Cybersecurity
  • Port/Naval Infrastructure
  • Possible Talks on Mini-SSK, FACs, a 2nd Fleet Tanker, MCMVs,
The drone development cited above is for civilian purposes, but nothing to do with STM.
Can we get our midget subs to be upgraded by Turkey?

Satellite programs (IMECE-0,7m, YÇU: 0,5-0,3m, Tursat-6A comsat, Göktürk-3 SAR sat, SmallGeo comsat)
Go for This Pakistan!!

You mean like Long Range Anti Ship Stealth missiles that that of Lockhead Martin LRASM?

To start some SOM ALCMs should be purchased with TpT and then JV should on highly stealth version should be done.
We have RA'AD for more than a Decade then why dont we modify it for our own? Why get Turkish ALCM when we have this technology before them?

I think this is very interesting. @Bilal Khan (Quwa) had suggested that TAI had set up at NUST to fund research. I had originally disagreed with such a notion saying that it was to do with exports of TAI products. I believe I stand corrected.

Of note is
"The areas of collaboration include Student & Faculty Exchange, Joint Research, and Intellectual Property Training leading to technology transfer."

1. Student exchange: This is certainly to our benefit. We are unable to provide our students with the right industries to work in.
2. Faculty exchange: This seems like a two way street. It seems TAI is interested in the faculty working at NUST and would like some of their work to make it to TAI products.
3. Joint Research, and Intellectual Property Training leading to technology transfer: This is probably an extractive process with respect to us. But I am not complaining. If our universities are producing talent and technology and it isnt being fully utilized locally it is good that at least someone is. Perhaps this will push Pakistani industries to follow suit once they see all the benefits of this that TAI reaps.

@HRK thanks for the merge. Was just about to ask for it.

Genuine question, what type of research can flow from our side to turkey which turkey may not be able to access on their own?
